Detailed Reviews
After 50 years of dining at many fine restaurants, there is no place I would rather dine than Churchill Pointe Inn. It is always difficult to decide which of the 17 entrees to order, since each is prepared exactly as I would dream--with unique creativity, but without pretention. One is greeted by the most friendly hostess anywhere, the chef's wife, and served by a most caring staff. The chef could run any leading restaurant in the country. However, he and his family have chosen to locate on the shores of unspoiled, untouristed Hubbard Lake, itself an enhancement to a most memorable dining experience.

I truly don’t know where to start as our stay from start to finish was incredible. We were greeted by a young man (I believe the owner/chef) who showed us how to get to our room. Upon arrival to the room we were excited to see the complimentary basket of goodies. The cleanliness of the room was amazing. The room was charming and spacious.
We had the perfect evening with our family dining on the deck overlooking the water.
The food was delicious, the service was fantastic and the overall experience made it one of my favorite evenings of the summer.
We cannot wait to be back.

My wife and I had to find and book this hotel last minute, as our previous hotel was closed due to a power outage. The decor of the room is nice, but slightly dated. They did offer a contactless check in process (highly appreciated), and the staff we did speak to were all very nice.
The view of the lake is very nice from our room, but it wasn’t quite the romantic spot my wife and I had hoped for.
The beds are comfortable and amenities include cable TV, air conditioning (in wall unit), walk in shower, extra plugs on the bedside lamps, a coffee maker, and a fruit and juice basket.
Check out was a snap too, all I had to do was drop the keys off in a drop box!

+1
We loved our stay at Churchill Pointe Inn so much a few years ago, we said we would return and this was the summer! This stay, we scored a lake view king room. It was comfortable and clean. The restaurant was as wonderful as we remembered! Our wait staff was friendly and you can’t beat the view! Make sure you try the champagne on tap AND order the prime rib! We also tried the shrimp cocktail. We have never enjoyed a shrimp cocktail this generous! Sadly, we didn’t have room for dessert, but they will bring a dessert tray for you to choose from.

An amazing getaway. From the moment we arrived we knew we found something special. Our room was impeccably clean. Ashley, our host, was so lovely and kind. She made us feel so welcome and truly made our stay so special. Her husband Andy who is also the chef prepares the most amazing meals. We are flabbergasted that he is the only chef at their restaurant. What an incredible talent. We cannot wait to come back to relax and unwind in the future.

Ashley... Meet her and you know all you need to know about Churchill Pointe Inn. She is gracious, energetic, warm, welcoming, efficient everything you could possible want in a hostess. I wish every customer service contact I met could be an Ashley! She made us feel like royalty and I hear Don the owner is every bit as friendly and gracious. This is a beautiful facility located literally steps from one of Michigan's less crowded jewels, Hubbard Lake. It's a 1920's era Inn that is meticulously maintained. The rooms have a Pure Michigan up north flavor with upgrades where you need them most such as the beds are premium quality for that great nights sleep. The lakeside rooms give you a view that will keep you up all night refusing to look away! Every staff member bent over backwards to please us and made us feel like family. The restaurant is more like fine dining and the food is exquisite but priced accordingly though really not bad for what you get. It pains me to say anything negative about this lovely Inn run by such wonderful people so I list a few things and you can judge wether or not they matter. This is a 20's era facility so there is no sprinkler system or even smoke detectors for that matter in any rooms that I saw. There are a significant number of steps to negotiate since all rooms are upstairs and on some stairways the handrail is at an awkward height. Call them concerns or part of the charm, they are what they are. By any means I highly recommend you seek out and enjoy this wonderful Inn.

Ashley met us at the reception desk and walked us to our room. On the way we met the owner Don who was putting the finishing touches on cleaning the room across the hall. Don made sure we knew how to operate the cable TV since past guests sometimes had a problem with it. The Inn is on Hubbard Lake, a few miles off the main road-DEFINITELY WORTH THE TRIP.
The inn (I believe) dates back to the 30's, but has been beautifully updated. Nothing fancy, but very nice. The food in the Restaurant was over the top good. We had a salad and spit the whitefish dinner to leave room for dessert-every item was very good on my tough rating scale. The night we had dinner, the place was packed with locals (a good sign), but the wait staff was still very attentive and everything came in a timely manner. Pay these nice folks a visit and you won't be sorry.

Unfortunately we did not have a very positive experience. Due to unclear system errors, 3 of the 5 reservations we made for a family reunion trip did not process correctly. We discovered 1 week prior to arrival that one family in the group did not have a confirmed reservation. Yes, this should have been discovered earlier and followed-up on but the Inn was not helpful or sympathetic to the situation. Instead, the other family members were reminded that absolutely no unregistered guests could come to the Inn to visit despite them being aware of the situation and the reason for the gathering to be a family reunion. The rooms at the Inn are comfortable with nice lake views in a good location on the lake. However, based on our experience, we will not be returning and would not recommend.

we arrived late, keys were waiting for us, room was prepared for us. So nice to be able to go straight to the room on a cold rainy night. Breakfast was excellent. We were treated like we were the only people there...but we were not obviously. Everyone at the inn is so friendly and concerned with our comfort. I felt like we were visiting family rather than staying in a motel (Inn). We will definitely be returning!

Recently I had the opportunity to visit the Churchill Ponte Inn as the guest of an organization I was working with. They had planned an event at the Inn and the theme was the prohibition era - set in 1930 at the Inn (which was built in 1926). I can't speak to the event - it was done by someone else- but the food was wonderful and the owners were charming and gracious and seemed to be right on top of every need my host requested.
With the closeness of the lake- just outside the doors - there was a fabulous view and the food was wonderful. It was a special buffet with chicken and salmon and wonderful vegetables - salad - and one of the best pecan pies I have ever eaten (and I have a long history of eating pecan pies). Officially the Inn did not open until the following day - it was a special event for the hospital - but the owners, Don & Sharon Geib welcomed everyone with great grace and charm. They've owned the Inn since 1995, so they have clearly had a lot of practice.
This was a real treat for me. A quick trip - I look forward to another visit when I may get to stay in one of their guest rooms and stay the night. I could almost hear the owls and other night birds. It must be fabulous in the summer. I can't wait for the opportunity.
