Tucked away in the Northern Michigan woods is a pleasant, peaceful, secluded B & B that calls out to you. 8 miles SE of Lewiston, Michigan tucked away on 25 acres of natural woodlands is this lodge that is charming as it is restful. The owners have been at this for 20+ years so your stay will be pleasant and reflective. The lodge, made entirely from logs harvested on site and boasts 7 bedrooms has a history that is fascinating and historical. I will leave the synopsis out but engage Doug and Suzan the owners and they will give you the rundown. Since this is a B & B there are a variety of outdoor activities you can enjoy from fishing, hiking, swimming, kayaking, boating, to snowmobiling, and cross country skiing in the winter months, the lodge has a homey, lived in atmosphere that you will relish. The day begins with fresh coffee, juice, fruit, muffins and is topped off by a huge breakfast, of eggs, pancakes, potatoes, more fruit, fresh baked breads, cereals, french toast and bacon, sausage and ham, depending on the day. The breakfast is provided with your stay but you can also negotiate a dinner with your hosts if you prefer dining at the inn during dinner hours an option you may find tempting. The inn has 7 BR's in the main building and has another cottage onsite with a complete kitchen for those lodgers preferring to prepare their own meals plus there is a couple of grills and a firepit for those outdoor activities.. The main lodge has a screened in porch, a huge reading room complete with a huge firesplace, a game room with pool table, darts, music and tables for cards or board games and a large bar. The lodge has a nice selection of reading materials and they have WIFI if you insist on keeping up with daily events. A huge TV also is available to check up on current events, sports, news or the current prime time schedule. All in all the Stiles have made this a charming, relaxing, B & B that you will feel instantly at home. It is remote, peaceful, and you can reflect and reminisce here with relatives and friends and you can easily leave your troubles at the gate of the lodge. You will be pleasantly surprised.

My husband and I, along with 5 others, stayed for anextened weekend over President's day. Every morning the breakfast was wonderful. Great variety. Cinnamon yogurt, baked oatmeal, homemade pumpkin bread, along with meats, french toast, and more! Delish! Doug and Suzan made everyone feel welcome. Comfy beds, plenty of hot water, quiet scenic location. The ongoing jigsaw puzzle kept us entertained in the evening along with good talks with new friends. We had a GREAT time... definitly would go back next time we head that way to ski.

We visit this exquisite lodge on Labor Day weekend every two years. We've had groups as small as 9 and as large as 15, and we're always treated royally! Suzan and Doug prepare our favorite meals, recalling the most special each time we visit, and seem to really care about serving quality, fresh foods. The rooms are ultra-clean and beautifully appointed in northern Michigan style, with handmade quilts and several with private baths. We only worry how we'll do the stairs when we're old!
