My family and I stayed at Ludington's Comfort Inn for one night as a planned stop on our way up to northern Michigan in July 2020. The location is right on the main street heading through Ludington, and it's within minutes to the beach, shops and restaurants. This was our first hotel stay since COVID began, and we were aware that the complimentary breakfast would be modified and that the pool would be closed. Check-in was mostly efficient. The front desk was busy when we arrived, but we didn't have to wait more than 20 minutes and the staff was friendly. The room was clean and had plenty of space for the three of us. One issue we encountered was after we collected our grab-and-go breakfast to take back to our room (the dining area was closed), we realized that the microwave in our room was unplugged. In order to plug it in, you had to either unplug the TV or the mini fridge since there was only one outlet located near these three electronics. The outlet was inconveniently located behind a large piece of furniture housing these three electronics, so it was a bit of a headache to get one thing unplugged to plug in the microwave. It would be nice if the hotel could invest in more outlets or something similar so all three could be plugged in at the same time. We also encountered guests smoking too close to the hotel's entrances and exits. Maybe there should be a designated smoking area with seating located at the back of the parking lot to encourage guests to stay away from the doors. Otherwise, our stay was quiet and comfortable. We would stay here again.…
The clerk at check in and check out was extremely pleasant. Very efficient. COVID is being taken care of in this hotel for the most part. I only saw a couple of guests without masks. We wore ours in the public areas. They had a grab and go breakfast which was fine for us. Two ladies came to get breakfast, while I was checking out, and I felt the hostess should have told them they needed masks for that area. That is the reason for the Very Good rating. Also, by the back door, where entrance for several rooms is, a man was smoking next to the door and that was not pleasant to walk through the fog. Rooms and linens were clean. Bathroom sparkled it was so clean. We will return.
This hotel was average for us. The front desk staff was friendly, it was clean, and our daughter loved the on-site playground. Unfortunately, due to Covid19 the pool was closed and the breakfast options were reduced. The breakfast offerings were coffee, tea, juices, packaged pastries & muffins, yogurt, fruit, and breakfast sandwiches in the fridge you could take back to your room to microwave.
The room was well appointed, well maintained, and clean. The staff at check-I and out were exceptional. They were friendly, courteous, helpful, and pleasant. Due to covid many of the normal amenities were unavailable. This hotel was a good value for the money.
Visited with wife and 2 kids. Room was clean and well apportioned. Got a great rate on the room and they did their best with breakfast and dealing with COVID. It’s not the Ritz but your not paying for that. Hard to beat in Ludington. Would stay again!
