Have stayed here a number of times. Great hotel, perfect location that is close to everything downtown. Always on the list of hotels to look into when we come to the island every year. We always get a balcony room, this time it was overlooking the back of the hotel, actually spent some time just watching horses graze in the area off from the stables.

Loved this place and would stay here again and again. The " Lady Anericana Suite Dreams" bed was the most comfortable I've slept in in years ..no backache or morning stiffness...so impressed I bought one myself following this trip.

We staying right on the first floor and it was quiet only draw back was the only window looked into the lobby. Room was spacious; AC quiet and refreshing. Staff was friendly and attentive.

My wife and I have stayed on the island a few times. Each time, at a different place. We spent 2 nights at the Bicycle Street Inn & Suites’ South Waterfront the week leading up to Labor Day weekend. We originally booked the BSI Atrium Suite King. But about a month before our stay, the prices came down and they were willing to upgrade us to Main Street Balcony King for basically the same cost. It was ABSOLUTELY worth it (see pics). The Atrium Suites have more room, but there are no exterior windows. The only window in these rooms look into the inside of the hotel. So, let’s break this down to the Pros and Cons. Pros: Location, location, location: We stayed literally right above the entrance for Shepler’s Ferry. 10-minute walk to Mission Point, 10-minute walk to the Grand Hotel. That’s the entire town. Indoor parking for bikes: If you’re bringing you own bike (and I recommend you do) this is a huge deal. A quick search of Main St. on Google Maps street view and you’ll see bicycle parking is at a premium. The Waterfront South building has a room with a bike rack in it, accessed from the exterior, south end of the building with a room key. Your bike will be secure and dry during your stay. Modern rooms: The Bicycle Street Inn is the newest hotel on the island. The Waterfront South room we stayed in was built only 3-4 years ago. The room we stayed in doesn’t even show up on Google Maps street view. They have refrigerators and microwaves, which are great for re-heating leftovers from all the great restaurants in the neighborhood. Price: Yeah, it’s still expensive (~$400/night with taxes). But for the nights we were there it was a little more than ½ the cost of the Iroquois or the Grand. You really haven’t experienced Mackinac Island unless you spend the night there (and heard taps being played from the fort at 10p), but it does come at a premium. Service: Our bags were delivered from St. Ignace directly to our room. And Sidney was great when we upgraded our room. Cons: No room service: Yeah, room service would be nice. But there are tons of restaurants within a couple of minutes’ walk. And you can re-heat the leftovers. No pool: We don’t have kids and didn’t come here to go swimming. But it is worth noting for those who do. No historic charm: Some of the other places we’ve stayed on Mackinac have been around for over 100 years. But that historic charm comes with a/c that doesn’t work well, uneven floors, and no fridge or microwave. So, it’s more of a trade off and depends on what is important to you. Lighting in the bathrooms: The lack of adequate lighting was something we both noticed and heard from other guests. The bicycle parking, location, price, and modern conveniences made it the right choice for us.

Wonderful hotel in the heart of Mackinac! Hotel staff welcoming and friendly, beautiful view of the water. Close to everything, but quiet waterfront rooms that are clean and modern. Waterfront south rooms are located right over the ferry dock, so there is some expected noise from the ferries, but no noise from neighbors or loud hallways which is great. Would stay here again in a heartbeat!

There are many excellent features of the Bicycle Inn's newest hotel such as the comfortable bed, efficient elevator, friendly and helpful staff, however, we experienced a big disappointment. Having looked at their website and descriptions of the facility on travel pages, I expected at least a window over looking the out of doors and realistically hoped for a water view of some sort. Our room was like the interior cabin of a ship. On floor 2, our window looked out on an interior space, so when the curtain was closed for privacy, it was like being in a dark fully enclosed box. Curtains had to be closed so the many people in the hallway couldn't look into the room. If you want a water view or even natural light, make this clear when you make your reservation. I was so looking forward to sitting with a glass of wine looking out on the lake or just the out of doors, and was terribly disappointed. We requested a room change and were denied.

I have never stayed in a worst room - the smallest room possible with a balcony into the ferry dock. Not even a chair in the room or a towel hook in the bathroom. No room to keep your luggage properly. Lights are all connected to one switch if you need a light in the bathroom all of the ceiling lights in the room have to be on as well. Never experienced anything this poor and shoddy that can call itself a hotel.

We are disappointed to see that you did not enjoy your visit. Please know that we will discuss your comments to ensure we deliver the best stay possible. Thank you for highlighting some aspects we can improve. The Mezzanine Guestroom may have been the room that would've aligned more with your needs. If you are ever back in the area, we would love to help you book this.

Me and my two children (ages 5 and 1.5) stayed here for two nights as part of our summer vacation. We booked a mezzanine room. The room was beautiful - large, updated and clean. I requested a pack n play and it was in the room before we arrived, which was nice. Everyone that worked there was very friendly. The location is perfect - if you want to be in the middle of it all. Walk outside and everything is right at your fingertips. Cons: there is only a shower so keep that in mind if you have kids that take baths. The mezzanine rooms feel a bit closed in with no windows or view of what’s going on outside. This is good if you need dark, but we felt a bit out of touch and wish we could have had a room to see outside. (This was our only option when we booked.) The worst part was our luggage was never picked up for the ferry (even though the front desk radioed for a bellboy as I was standing there). So we made it on a ferry and then had to wait for our luggage - not an ideal situation with two young children and when we have plans for the day.

Bicycle Street Inn could not have been more fantastic! Every aspect of our visit was absolutely seamless. We checked our luggage at the ferry, and the hotel porters brought it to our room as soon as it was ready. The front desk staff was so nice and helpful and even called me when our room was ready an hour early! We stayed in a waterfront south room, with a fantastic view of the lake and the Shepler’s ferry dock. Beds were super-comfortable, and the room was equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The bathroom was absolutely sparkling. This whole building is modern and stylish. There is a secure bike room, if you bring your own bike with you. On our check-out day, the porters brought our luggage to the ferry for us, and it was waiting on the mainland when we arrived several hours later. We loved every aspect of our stay and will definitely return to Bicycle Street for a future Mackinac Island visit! I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Perfect location. The Shepler Ferry takes you within walking distance of the hotel. Bike and kayak rentals are steps from the lobby. Coffee shops within walking distance and is right on the Main Street of the Island. Rooms are clean, fresh and we had a water view with balcony. Frig, coffee maker and Microwave in room. Water isn’t provided but sold at the front desk. Bathroom is spacious and very clean. Hotel staff are very nice and helpful.
