We originally tried to get accommodation in Okaukeujo but as none were available for our dates we opted for Halali Instead and spent three nights there over Christmas. As we drove through Okaukeujo we thought it looked very large and busy and a bit like a Butlins Camp, we didn't know what to expect of Halali Resort apart from our...

An absolutely idyllic spot - we were hoping for a night in Okaukeujo but there weren't any available so we stopped here instead and WHAT a stroke of luck! The camp is further into the park so plenty to see, and the waterhole didn't disappoint. The service, unfortunately, disappointed - even for the poor Namibian service we had come to...

Considering Namibia Wildlife Resorts' generally mixed reputation, Halali was a pleasant surprise. Accommodation was decent, clean and functional - all that was necessary since most days were occupied with game drives. The food for breakfast and evening dinner was good. Both buffets were more than an adequate with freshly grilled game meat in the evenings being a highlight. Staff were...

Great campsite in Etosha national park with its own waterhole, which was very exciting for the kids. Good wifi, which even reached our tents. Good laundry and abolution facilities, a restaurant, a tourist shop, offering night game drives (book way ahead!). Big pool. We definitely could have stayed longer than the one night we did. A little run down, we...

Acceptable but not inspiring "resort". Immediate access to gravel roads leading through Etosha is a big plus. The pool is a plus for hot afternoons when wildlife is snoozing, although it was less attractive, more barren than the pool at the Okaukuejo Resort further west. Not all rooms are furnished as attractively as the one on their web site. Restaurant...

We only stayed one night here, but the camp sites are large, shaded, have lights, and are a short walk to the bathrooms, and a 5 minute walk to the waterhole. A nice pit stop through from the eastern part of etosha.

Not quite as large and hectic as Okajuejo. This is our second visit in the last 3 years. Stayed two nights. Just about right, but could easily stay three. The waterhole is outstanding. Campsite #37 is a short walk away. Plan on spending a few hours there every evening after your game drive. Many rhino frequent this area. Wonderful sightings....

We were 2 people in a family chalet as that's all that was available when we booked, and this was far too big - a lounge, kitchen, BBQ area etc which we didn't really need! But a great location all the same. Food was quite OK in spite of the poor reviews we'd read. The waterhole was a real highlight,...

Although Halali is famous for its waterhole, the resort itself is saddening. At night, we saw a rhino at the waterhole, some elephants and also lions eating a giraffe they caught during the day! The resort itself feels cheap, like a 2* start resort with a terrible buffet. Just remember you are doing it to see animals ;)

My chalet was much nicer than I expected and was very clean and well furnished and had tea and coffee making facilities. The bed was comfortable with very nice crisp white bedding. However, why leave a very broken chair on the patio? Was it a modern art installation? Buffet meals were adequate but sometimes the queues for cooked items were...
