We enjoyed three nights at Onguma Tented Camp as part of our travels through Namibia. Compared to many other parks in Africa, Etosha doesn't feel terribly wild, but it's a lovely and uncrowded park with amazing landscape worth seeing even without the wildlife. Onguma Tented Camp is one of several lodges located in a private concession adjacent to the park,...

It is hard to find any negatives about this establishment: everything is superb, except their bush walks/drives. We arrived to stay on all inclusive package only to find out that drives and walks are booked until the day of our departure. Out of five bush lodges we stayed in on this trip this one was the only one that did...

We spent four nights at this splendid establishment. It's a twenty minute drive from the gatehouse, after which time the staff have been mobilised by the gatekeeper and lined up as a welcome party. One is then introduced to them all in a line, and hands shaken. All very British country house, and rather disturbingly colonial for a couple of...

We had a very relaxing few days in Onguma which was at the end of my trip. The staff were very friendly and hardworking, and the food was great. Only slightly unsettling thing was all the zebra and springbok skin chairs we had to sit on! A great place to end our trip...

We arrived with a flat tyre from the road to the camp and six staff came out to change it, even though we were happy to do it ourselves. Even though we stayed only one night before driving across the park, our stay was memorable for a number of reasons. The food was superb, as was the service. Our tent,...

We had a busy 2 week trip around Namibia up to Vic Falls so after days of hard driving over bad roads in Etosha this was 2 nights of rest and relaxation. We had one full day on site starting with a nature walk first thing in the morning for about 1.5 hrs - it was ok. We were just...

We returned to this lodge two years after our first visit, this time ensuring we spent 4 nights here as last time we didn't want to leave after 3 nights. Next time we will have to increase it again. . . . Wow. This lodge remains our favourite lodge and our return felt like a real home coming experience. It...

If you are planning to stay at an Onguma site to see animals and have a safari experience, you will likely be disappointed. This was the worst set of safari drives I've ever had. Our experience was so awful, we sat down with the tented camp manager to discuss it before we left. What I learned is that each Onguma...

Accommodation consists of a fourteen bed tented camp, built around a waterhole. The seven spacious tents extend the u-shaped design, allowing for both privacy and fantastic views. Styled similarly to the main complex in the colors of the bush, each tent is designed with the same attention to detail and has a feeling of natural luxury.
