The posada is in the village of Quirigua itself. It's a nice walk to the ruins - 3 to 4 km past banana plantations. The room is basic, with a fan and a private bathroom. It is clean with screens covering the windows. The wifi signal was difficult to get from the room, so usually I had to go nearer...

Yeah we should have made contact but the website makes it look like this place is open, so we just showed up. We remained calm even though stranded in the middle of the jungle. A nice man had a house further up the hill and called another taxi for us to go God knows where. Our first taxi had left...

Tucked in an out-of-the-way spot, Posada de Quirigua is designed with relaxation and quiet in mind. The rooms are simple and absolutely clean. Be sure to eat meals on-site; I had vegetarian Japanese food that was so fresh and tasty. The gardens are beautiful. Be sure to spend some time in a hammock as well. The owner arranges for tuk...

I didn't even find this on Trip Advisor. I made a good search of hotels near the Mayan site of Quirigua and Masaki's webpage showed up. I saw the pictures, the area, the food she offered and I quickly emailed her. She booked the night, gave me clear directions on how to get there and how much the tuk tuk...

The place is difficult to reach and not so known by the neighbours. Coming from the highway, you have to drive down and turn on a small way on the right just after the bridge. The way climbs and you see an unpaved way on the left. This is the place! Our room was simple, with a private bathroom. We...

Makasí is a welcoming host and a good cook! She made us a japanese dinner, a strange sensation in the middle of jungle vegetation in Guatemala, but it was good. Rooms are okay and clean, but do not expect a 5 star hotel. A bit hard to find, but neighbours know the place. Breakfast was good, with home made mayan...

During our bike tour through Guatemala we spent a night in this wonderful place. We enjoyed it entirely. The rooms are very clean and basic, but still stylish. The tropic garden with the hammocks is perfect to relax. But the best thing is the home made food. The super-friendly owner prepared a home made japanese dinner, fantastic. Reservations recommended !!...

We loved this place. You have to know that it is a very quiet, simply furnished...no TV's or phones or any other forms of entertainment other than appreciating the beauty Masaki has created in her small corner of the world. Masaki is the Japanese woman who owns and runs the place. The highlight for us was a wonderful tempura dinner...

First of all we spent an hour or so to find it, it is ridiculous, explanation how to get there should be changed. The place is very very simple, do not expect anything fancy. Just a couple of beds in a room and one towel per person. There is nothing to do around, so you have a choice to read...
