I really like this hotel and would like to award it five stars, but it just falls short. However, I thoroughly recommend it as a base for exploring the sights of Leon. It is central and surprisingly quiet when you are in your room. The staff are really helpful even though most of them speak little English. Breakfast is varied and excellent quality. We didn't exactly get a choice of dishes: we were just presented with a bowl of fruit and a cooked meal each morning. It could be different if you speak Spanish! The courtyard is as cool as you can find in this hot city. Please beware not to tread on one of the pet tortoises. There is also a pleasant rooftop area with views of the local volcanoes. The only slight problems were found in the bedroom. Firstly, the room although…
Stayed here for three night while visiting Leon. The rooms were clean, had AC and hot water. The staff was friendly, in particular one of the front desk attendants, Jorje, who was helpful and made us feel welcome. The free breakfast included was always delicious and filling - we enjoyed the fresh juice. It' served in the hotel's garden. In particular, we enjoyed the hotel's rooftop terrace. It offers views of the city and is a great spot to watch the sunset.
Clean place, beautifully colonial style hotel, the owner and the staff are great people helping you meet your needs as much as they can! Very close to the the churches and the main square and places of interests, a grocery store is very close too or a massage place.
Rooms are not so big. Furnitures so big and so much so you hit them all the time. Bed is not comfortable. And the room smells bad. There are better hotels in the city with same price. Breakfast was fresh and nice.
Great Place, close to everything we wanted to do in Leon. Staff was great and helpful-Jorge was great. Rooms were clean, serviced and air conditioned. Felt secure and comfortable.Wi-fi was a bit spot. Nice views from the roof top terrace.
Stayed here for 3 nights with young children. Can't fault the staff, room, breakfast or amenities. Air con was effective, room was serviced daily and was very clean. Great location - short walk to pick up tour to do volcano boarding and short walk to restaurants and shops.
Charming place with a great host who can point out where to go. We stayed one night in a nice room. Breakfast was very good. The location is walking distance to the best spots in town and not far from the bus terminal. Sunsets upstairs are beautiful. I wish they served cocktails there.
The hotel Real is a great place to stay in Leon. It's in a great location and very secure with the gate on the front door. The room was spacious with working A/C and the bathroom had a large shower with hot water. Breakfast was served in the atrium/courtyard and consisted of fresh fruit, coffee, juice, eggs, toast, beans and plantains. It was nice being served in such a beautiful setting. The reception desk was staffed with an English speaking host who was extremely friendly and helpful in finding good restaurants in the evening. The host in the evening only spoke Spanish, but we were still able to communicate with him after we arrived late from Managua. I would definitely recommend this hotel as a great value if you're staying in Leon.
This is a great, small hotel in a wonderful location in Leon. It fits in well between luxury hotels and hostels. Rooms are small but clean and comfortable (with A/C). There is a pleasant reception area where small groups can hang out. Breakfast was included and DELICIOUS - there's no menu, just show up and they bring juice and coffee, then a full hot breakfast (usually eggs, plantains, gallo pinto, fruit, toast, etc). There is a gate at front which is attended by the receptionist (especially at night) to keep everyone secure. Note that if you don't speak Spanish you may have to be creative when asking questions in the evenings. During peak hours, an English speaking host is available but at night it's pretty much just in Spanish. I would definitely stay here again.
The hotel is very clean and Breakfast was included. It has ground floor and roof terraces with seating areas The shower is good with hot water. The staff are friendly and the location is perfect and is close to everything.
