I’ve just spent 5 nights at Hostal Tortuga Booluda in Leon. I was very fortunate to be able to book the room at the top – room 8 (affectionately known as ‘the penthouse’ I believe). I was travelling alone so the room was wonderful for just me. It was spacious with 2 double beds (comfy & clean). There was a...

We stayed at Tortuga Booluda for three nights in December. It is a great hostel for a great price! There is a nice common area and the rooms are spacious and very clean. Breakfast is included which is always nice and the staff were very pleasant. It is on a more quiet street, about a 10 minute walk to the...

This hostel is pretty chilled but still good enough to mingle and drink with fellow travellers. The staff is helpful if you ask them what you want/need We stayed in the private room upstairs which has a private balcony and private bathroom and it was comfortable They have fans but charge an extra $10 approx if you want to use...

We spent a few days in a private room at the tortuga booluda. The place is kept really clean and our room was very large, queen plus one bunk bed. The kitchen can get crowded around breakfast and dinner. The hostel isn't air conditioned and in the midday leon heat, it's best just to lie down in a hammock in...

Affordable, relaxed and very cute! We had a private room with bathroom on the lower level. It's hot but there are fans and the ceilings are high. There is pancake/crepe batter for everyone to use in the morning. I would suggest bringing some other food too; there are boxes to store it. The coffee is fantastic! Beer and drinks are...

We stayed for two nights at La Totuga Booluda after reading rave reviews of the place. It totally lived up to expectations. Three of us took the private room above the kitchen area, which we lovingly named the penthouse. Really lovely clean room, with a cool breeze and two fans. It has its own balcony so you feel like you...

I really liked the atmosphere here.It is not a party place, but you meet plenty of travelers in the common area. The kitchen is very nice.I would fix the door of the common shower (for the people in the 6-bed dorm). It does not close properly. That's the only comment I can think of. One of the nicest hostels in...

We stayed in a private room with shared bathroom in between two rooms. The room was very hot! I think the private room is overpriced for what it is. The common area/kitchen was always clean. Hammocks in the garden were lovely. Pancake breakfast was delicious.

Dear AK8187, Thank you for reviewing our hostel. Unfortunately (or fortunately, depending on your perspective) León is a hot city and it is very difficult to cool down the rooms at night, as you rightly pointed out. We do what we can by providing lots of fans but obviously those cannot work wonders. There are only two solutions to this:...

We stayed here for 4 days/3 nights while in Leon after hearing excellent reviews of Tortuga Booluda. Knowing very little about Leon or the lay out of the city, it seemed at first as though we were off the beaten path but in reality everything you need is a 5-10 minute walk away. We stayed in a dorm - 4...
