What a wonderful stay we had at Chateau de Fontenay. Nathalie and her family were wonderful hosts and we felt very much at home in their lovely house. Nothing was too much trouble as we asked for advice on where to go and a lot of the Loire Valley chateaux were not far away. Breakfasts were great with lots of...

The property is centrally located for all the things we wanted to see and do, and set in a beautiful location with vineyards, woods, and a river alongside which would make for lovely walks if we had been so inclined (we went mid-November when it was drizzly and chilly, but I think Spring/Summer would be stunning). They also have chickens...

We stayed for a week in the room called Cupidon in the chateau, while others in our family had one of the cottages, 'La Closerie', to one side of the chateau. It's a beautiful setting with large grounds, including woodland and a vineyard, above the Cher, a tributary of the Loire. One of the best features is the lovely large...

My husband and I returned last week from a nine night stay at this amazing chateau. We could not have picked a more perfect place! The chateau itself is lovely with beautiful, peaceful grounds to walk and a gorgeous terrace/pool area. Our hosts, Nathalie and her husband Philippe, were so very warm, welcoming, and helpful throughout our stay. Nathalie even...

Stayed six nights in September as a base for visiting the towns and chateaux of the upper Loire. Fontenay is a picture perfect chateau enhanced with extensive grounds and vineyards. The large outdoor terrace overlooking the pool was the venue for the typically French breakfast as the weather was wonderful and we also had several evening picnics there rather than...

Thank you Nathalie for making the start of our France holiday so relaxing. We drove from Paris CDG to the Loire and arrived quite late and jetlagged after a few flight delays. Nathalie and Choco her beautiful dog met us at the entrance to the chateau (which has a lovely round drive to greet you, and rolling green lawns, vines,...

We have just had a fantastic two week stay in La Maison du Boulanger self catering gite on the Fontenay estate. The gite itself was comfortable, clean and well equipped with all mod cons. But the setting within the stunning grounds of Le Chateau Fontenay was what made the holiday for us. Our 4yr old and 1yr old loved the...

We spent 7 nights at the Le Chateau de Fontenay, we really couldn't have asked for more from a b&b, perfect is the only way to describe it. Our room was great, we had a view over the front of the chateau from the room and a lovely view onto the Cher from the bathroom so had the best of...

We had the most delightful hosts, Phillippe & Nathalie. The breakfast each morning was a delight. Very convivial and we got the feeling that if we asked Nathalie to bend over backwards for us she would. The surroundings were fantastic. The house is in an estate of forest and vines which is marvellous to walk or cycle in. There is...

We stayed in the cottage called La Maison du Boulanger in the grounds of this absolutely beautiful chateau. It was great to have the privacy of the cottage and the use of the grounds. We particularly liked the long swimming pool and the use of bikes. We cycled to Chenonceau and to Amboise, largely off road, and daily to Blere...
