Very nice hotel, absolutely familiar and with very few rooms. Rooms with standard comforts and suitable to spend some nights. Parking for cars by the hotel and very good restaurant integrated in the hotel.

We have stayed here before as it a very convenient half way stopping point on our way North from the Dordogne to the ferry at Ouistreham -Caen. The rooms are very well appointed . We had Room 5 in the annexe with bath and shower, on a previous trip we stayed in the room at the top of the house...

We are travelling through France on a 2 week trip and needed a nights stop around the Loire, we stayed here for one night and enjoyed an excellent evening meal. As we were moving on the next day, decided to also have breakfast which in France is normally very disappointing - not here however it was very good fresh fruit...

We have just returned from a two night stay at Hostellerie de la Mere Hamard and I cannot recommend it highly enough. Our room, Room 1 in the annexe, was beautifully furnished with a separate bath and loo, comfortable beds and was very quiet. The food prepared the Chef Patron was absolutely delicious and the service impeccable. The staff, especially...

We did not stay here but were recommended to go and have a meal . It was worth the visit . The food was superb and presentation beautiful . The service a little slow but not worth complaining about . It was very busy so I guess booking ahead essential . If I was back in the area would certainly...

We found this hotel on a rival site, the reviews were good so I booked. The hotel is not the cheapest that we have stayed at but did I feel offered good value. The room was clean, comfortable and spacious, and yes it was at the top of the building, but no worse for that - and as my wife...

Wow! The food here is exceptionally good. We have stayed twice and will visit again. The chef clearly cares about what is served, and the value is superb. We chose the 33euro menu, it was not the most expensive but we chose it because we liked the dishes offered. In addition to three excellent courses, we were served canapes, an...

This hotel was a recommendation from a friend who has been staying here for years now, on our way from the channel to a house we rent in the Pyrenees. It was easy enough to find, although the parking was not obviously signed (although a nice older gent in chefs whites came out and ushered us into their parking after...

We stopped here for one night on the last leg of our French holiday. It isn't cheap so it was a relative extravagance for us. Our room in the annexe was spacious and charming and the restaurant was fantastic. The food and service were excellent - a real treat and a great way to end our holiday.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
A few minutes outside Tours, in the Heart of the chateaux of the Loire, La Mère Hamard has made its mark on the village of Semblançay. This house has been here for over a century and has a fascinating history. It is in this place that we suggest you crossing a few hours in our company. We could speak to you for a long time in writing about our passion for all which titillates papillae. But we shall not make him: nothing replaces the experience of the plate and that of the glass, which we hope for it will be for your taste. All our products are home-made from fresh products, selected strictly. We attach a particular choice to the origin of products, which we prefer of season and picking. Best Regards, Alice et Olivier Loize. ... more   less
