My wife and I decided to visit Normandy in order to enjoy the nice region, food and to see the landing beaches and Mont Saint Michel. We looked for B&B at 'chateau's' and found Pont-Rilly and booked 2 nights. The place is amazing. A bit difficult to find - but when we arrived we were met by an impressive ally...

In a word: fantastique. Stay here if you have the chance. The proprietors, Annick and Jean-Jacques Roucheray, are welcoming and the souls of kindness. The chateau is wonderful – lovingly restored over the 30 years since the Roucherays bought the estate. The rooms are well decorated, with attention to detail, and very comfortable. I slept soundly each night – and...

Magnificent and calm in its impressiveness, the chateau is an unique experience and the palce place we visited in the Normandy so far. We arrived at a late evening and might have troubles to locate the places, as it is located deep off the road, just a small indication telling when to turn right. We were kept mesmerized approaching the...

A friend had stayed here and came back almost speechless at what he saw and fumbled to describe how the owner had lovingly rendered this château back to its original state using archives, in order to help rebuild missing or damaged components using only the same local materials as hundreds of years ago. It stuck in the back of my...

This is our second year we rent a gîte at the chateau. The settin is impressive, the decor of the houses is very welldone and there is everything youmay need. The park is full of peackocks, hens and chickens, a real pleasure for the kids. Owners are always there but not intrusive.

Amazing Chateau near Valognes, Normandy. Words can't describe well enough how beautiful this place is. The owners were very friendly and helpful (although only the lady, Annick speaks English). We stayed on the Orchid cottage, which is suitable for 6 persons; Or even 16, if there were enough beds (it's a huge 150 sqm). The beds, shower, linings, towels, kitchen,...

As a family (with two children under seven) we had the whole top floor (3 bedrooms) to ourselves. The period detail was amazing (especially the tiled floors) and loads of space for the girls. Only downside were the fairly short single beds. Home-made jam, collecting peacock feathers and tour of house before departure all added up to a really unique stay.

We wanted to visit the d-day beaches. This looked to be a little farther than we wanted to be from them, but my wife was intrigued. This turned out to be a terrific experience. We can not recommend this highly enough. Our hosts were great people. We will be sure to visit again if we can.

Similar to the other reviewers, we had booked at another chateau that was unable to accommodate us. We were guided by the other chateau owner to Pont-Rilly. It is an absolutely stunning place. We stayed one night in a room in the chateau itself, and the next few nights in the mill house. Our hosts are most gracious. We could...

Our family (3 daughters ages 8, 11, 13) had reserved at another chateau only to learn after long flight from the U.S. that it wasn't available (shut down by French authorities)- and the owner of that chateau was nice enough to take us to the Chateau de Pont-Rilly. We were unhappy to have to go to another accomodation until we...

“We previewed all the accommodations. They are all excellent, from a beautifully appointed bedroom with en suite bathroom in the Chateau to the three outbuildings....this will be a stay of a lifetime forever embedded in your memory. The "Fitness Center" is really the freedom to roam the grounds at will.”
