Delighted to see this newly opened hotel. We have been visiting Noirmoutier for nearly 20 years, and just love it here, but getting accommodation is always a challenge, especially in July and August. Hotel is in a lovely location, a 10 minute stroll to our favourite beach (Plage Des Dames). It's a gorgeous building, which has been stylishly renovated, retaining most of its architectural features, but with a modern take. Rooms on the small side, we did have a problem with our first room, we'd booked a prestige room with Terrace, but the room we were shown did not have a terrace, after some initial confusion, they were able to swop our room, but only for 3 nights, so the last night we had to move back into a room without terrace, so do get confirmation of your room type in writing when booking. Prestige rooms don't all have balconies/terraces, some have air con instead. The bed was super comfortable, and we had a huge shower (at least for the first 3 nights). The hospitality tray is basic, just a small range of black/green teas, no milk, (although thankfully there is a kettle, but no coffee machine). Housekeeping supplied me with a generous jug of milk, and the fridge was handy. The sitting area, outside terrace, and reception area are super stylish, with good quality furnishing, and gave the air of a country house hotel. I have to agree with others over the breakfast, the price (we paid £25 euro each), is just not justified, it was pleasant enough, but very overpriced for what was it was. We did eat in the restaurant one evening, it was okay, but lacks a front of house, and the meal did not blow us away (£45 euro a head for 3 courses). There is some stiff competition in Noirmoutier, so it will have to up its game to compete. Pool was heated, with plenty of loungers and umbrellas (outside w.c. needed though). Lastly the staff, they were all very friendly, English isn't widely spoken, and our French is very poor, but we got by, and Yohan was a perfect front of house, if we ever open a hotel, we would want Yohan to run it for us, super friendly, can do attitude, and a great sense of humour, he really looked after us. So would we stay again, most definitely yes, but I doubt we'd be able to get in next year, we've already looked at a few dates, and there is no availability, so if you find a room, don't hesitate to book it. I wouldn't be surprised if it was part of the Relais and Chateaux very soon.
