We really enjoyed our stay. There was a staff member who had very good english and was so patient with our lack of french. The room is simple, large and clean. The food was average but sitting near the fountain was fantastic! The hotel advertises wifi but they shouldnt, it never worked. I would recomend staying here

A abosuletly wonderful place! We where met with a great person showing us the room (he knew english), a great hospitality regaring lunch/dinner. They knew their local products, wanted to inform as much is valued the costumer, and gave a cosy chill atomosphere. Rooms clean with warm showers and comfy beds. We came after a day travelling and a half... More

Location The hotel is located right in the center of the village facing a beautiful fountain – l’eaux potable! The village is adjacent to La Gorge du Verdon, which splits the departments of Var and Alpes de Haute Provence. The area is stunning with the opportunity for water sports at the Lac de Sainte-Croix, climbing and/or bungee jumping in the... More

Small little village high up in the valley, great views over looking the lake, small compact hotel very quaint. Old stone staircase to walk up. No lifts, so try for a room on the lower floors. Stayed on B&B basis, very basic breakfast, no hot food just continental. Staff excellent & friendly, having said that, the owner kept us waiting... More

During our honeymoon we decided to make a stop-over between the Riviera and Provence and spent two nights in Aiguines. The hotel is on the main square, running its restaurant and bistro just by the fountain. Our room was a romantic room on the second floor, with a view overlooking the square and the lake beneath, cosy facilities, nice bathroom,... More

Beautifully rebuild charming very old hotel at a nice location with a friendly staff. "Romantic" room spatious, simply but lovely equipped. Drawbacks: declared free Wifi not present in our room - at restaurant only, free car parking 250m far away, narrow stairs. We do not recommend a breakfast.

Yes it is modest in some ways, but it is authentic and charming in all the good ways. Our room was small but perfect for our needs and spotless. The restaurant provided very good Provençal meals. Excellent value for both our accommodation and meals. The people who run the hotel have good English and are very helpful and efficient. The... More

Our stay at Hotel du Vieux Chateau was a wonderful experience. The village itself oozes French country charm, set in the dramatic mountain tops with a stunning view of the lake below. The hotel is literally in the heart of the village. The restaurant offers a good variety of local food on the terrace, which is right beside the original... More
