Staff is friendly an very helpful with suggestions, food, sites to see. Be staying again, very quiet. Friends an family were able to locate us easily, an being on edge of town traffic was less, but close to places we enjoyed.

We were traveling on motorcycles and had booked in advance for 3 double queen rooms. Check-in was easy and quick. Our rooms were clean and quiet. The location is nice because the back borders the river and they even have an area with an outdoor grill, gazebo, and fire pit for your use right on the river. The pool is large and was open. No breakfast at this time because of Covid. Location is close to everything but not on the main road which is probably why it was much quieter. Staff were friendly and helpful. One couple had a problem with their tv but someone came right away to fix it. The price was a bit high at $150 but we only stayed one night.They offered to let us park our motorcycles under the covered drive up front. If you are in this area make sure to drive the River Road Scenic Byway. Very pretty with several scenic stops

We have stayed here over this period of time for a few years. When we arrived we were told the pool, hot tub and sauna were out. Both ice machines were also out and bagged ice was available at the desk (they ran out one of the days we are there.) When roaming the halls, the strong odor of marijuana was detected from time to time. The breakfast was sparse compared to previous years.

Only lukewarm water for showers. No regular coffee at 6am. Breakfast very bad, no bowls for cereal, no napkins, no knives and when we asked the desk clerk they said they didn't have any. The only working ice machine by the front desk had stained towels thrown around unit on floor as it must have been leaking. Front desk staff did not seem to care that shower water was lukewarm. We have stayed at this hotel for the last 6 yrs every Labor Day weekend & it was never like this. Will never stay again.

Will never be back; broken pool, sofa; seating sank to the floor, ice machine out of service, pop machine not working, no coffee at 6 am. Coffee pot in room had sugar and cream(had to stir with ball point pen).no body visible at 6 am check. Had to throw room cards over the counter. Breakfast terrible.

This is a unique hotel located on the Au Sable River, nice water front with picnic tables (picnic tables could use some sprucing up and area needs some flower pots because it is very tired looking), nice view of the river. The rooms are average but very clean. MY biggest complaint, staff not wearing masks and letting guests walk around other guests without masks. In the State of Michigan it is a law to wear a mask in public places. We were very disappointed in the staff not obeying Covid-19 rules.

I'm really not sure where all the 5 star ratings are coming from, they must have been left shortly after this place opened. Pay no attention to the beautiful pictures they have on their website, they are deceiving. After a long day, we were looking forward to a nice relaxing swim in the pool, and a little bit of hot tub. NOPE. Sign on the door states the pool and hot tub are closed. Seriously? We checked in anyway, and looked in the pool area. This pool is empty and doesn't look like it's been used in years. So, we were given a room on the second floor, and we went to look for an elevator. On our way down the hall, we passed an ice machine with an 'out of order' sign. Got all the way to the end of the hall, found no elevator, but we did find another ice machine, which also had an 'out of order' sign. So, no elevator, no ice available. The only thing this place has going for it is that the mattress was comfortable and there was a decent television in the room. Forget the beautiful breakfast photo they show you. The juice machine? Broke. There is a gallon of orange juice in the fridge, along with a gallon of milk. Pancakes and english muffins are of the frozen kind. The toaster oven apparently worked. I felt bad for the young gentleman who had to take care of the front desk, as well as the breakfast area and coffee station. I hope he can find a better job in the near future.
This place is in desperate need of an update. It may have been a great place in the past, now it's just a sad, not great place to stay. The owner doesn't seem to care much about the place and it shows. Wyndham should be ashamed to have their name on this place.

Breakfast is horrible if you can say it’s a breakfast. Thawed pancakes and stale bagels. Milk, apple juice, and orange all in one gallon jugs and are not even really cold. No cream cheese just peanut butter or maple syrup. No one is on staff from 11pm-6am. Also call and make sure pool and hot tub is even open. Hand towels even have holes in them.

Stay way clear of this dump. Filthy, full of bugs yuck disgusting all around. Sleep in your car if need be or you will regret it for a long time,....................should be shut down by health dept. Cant figure why they let this kind of stuff go

I don't see why not, call and make the reservation, nothing has to be said about the age of the second person you just say there will be 2 guests and tell them what type of bed arrangement you want. You should ask about the age requirement of the person renting the room though, just to be sure.
