Detailed Reviews
Wry dated. Condition did not match photos on booking site in any way. Odd smell in hallways. Window was open when I arrived. Floor was very cold. Did not seem like a safe place to be but was all I could find last minute in that area. I would try not to stay again.

We just came back from a 2 day stay at this facility.
I will start off with good.....
- Hotel is nicely located and not too far from all oscoda/tawas area attractions, nor too close either to give you a perfect balance.
- Hotel staff is very energetic and always have smiles on their faces. We observed that all the folks were professional and pleasant.
- Rooms are equipped with all basic needs, nothing special, but I like it that way.
- Bonfire at night and yummy breakfast in the morning.
- A very good menu and food. Small bar but cozy and well run.
There is nothing bad about this place, but one thing that was alarming....
The pool is one of those old style ones..... 4 feet to straight 9 feet drop. Watch your little ones and the ones who r not good swimmers.
The slides drop out in straight 9 feet water, where 5 foot would have been just fine.

The room was average but very spacious. Bed comfortable. Breakfast adequate but nothing special. Desk staff cordial. The exterior is not very attractive and our room was at the very far end of the facility so we drove there. To get to the restaurant and breakfast area you navigate down a long hallway past the pool and up and downstairs. Really no complaints but nothing to rave about. We would stay there again.

We stayed in the cabins by the water this weekend. We had cabin 1, it was NOT like the pictures. Very disappointed, it was dirty, dated, and dumpy. For this being a PANDEMIC, I would have thought it would have been spotless, NOPE! For the almost $200.00 a night, I expected WAY more. The silverware is a joke, there is no microwave, but don't there is a toaster? I could go on and on, but it would be pointless.
UPDATE your cabins to justify the insane amount you charge to stay there!

I really enjoyed swimming nsd my kids loved going down the slides. Melanie was so excellent at helping us to get into her room. Accommodating snd kind because for some reason we weren't in the system. I had booked through kayak. We had an absolute blast!!

Had a great time. Loved the staff. Very very helpful and responsive to our needs. The pool was fabulous. Everything was clean and people were friendly. I cant wait till they get the breakfast room up and going. They have some awesome ideas and it is exciting to see the place grow and expand. We will defiantly be back. Pepper cant wait to see you Matt. Thank you for a great weekend.

Dirty Bed. Long--possibly human and short hair--possibly animal in sheets and covers. Spots on sheets, covers, pads and mattress. Room and facility smelled musty. We checked in late in the evening and were very tired and then checked out without sleeping there.

I'll start with the couple good things. Nice staff, very friendly. Pool was nice and warm. The TV were nice flatscreens. Other than that I didn't enjoy our stay. The building smelled musty but I guess there is nothing they can really do about that. Beds were disgusting and uncomfortable. There was a blood stain on the comforter and on the boxsprings. Bathroom is cramped and floor is coming off. Mold in the shower where the handle was. No fridge or microwave. The breakfast was free but all they had were some stale bagels, TWO kinds of mini cereal, packets of plain oatmeal, and some dried out eggs. I put the Do Not Disturb sign on our door because our family was taking showers and trying to get ready before check out time and although the cleaning lady was friendly she STILL knocked on our door for housekeeping. That kind of made me angry. I guess you get what you pay for.

+1
Im a contractor with STS, THIS PLACE SUCKS! STAY AWAYYYY!! looked like the room was flooded before, it had a nasty mold smell, the paint was chipping off the walls, the carpet was old smelly and nasty, the bathroom is really out dated and gross. I requested another room so they called in the manager/owner, 20 min later he showed up smelling like whiskey being very rude and said to me that "the mold isn't going to kill you"....
Terrible service, disgusting rooms, nasty food.
You're better off staying somewhere else!

I will never stay here again. My husband & I just stayed here the weekend of Oct. 4th, 2013 with some of my siblings & their family's. I was the first in our group to make a reservation here but got the worst room ! The room was old & outdated. The T.V. was located on the side of the bed instead of in front where both of us would be able to watch it if we were laying in bed. No shelves in the shower to put your shampoo etc. on. Shower curtain was torn. Our room was so close to the bar that you could hear the music with or without the windows opened so we got no sleep until the music ended both nights we were there. My sister & her family checked in on Sat the 5th and was told they could not use the pool or go into the bar because of a wedding going on. We were NEVER told the wedding party was going to take up the whole hotel otherwise we would never have stayed there ! We didn't get anything taken off of our bill either. We were told that the breakfast would be free but it was free for everyone who stayed there ! I would not recommend this hotel at all !
