I have been going to these Cabins for 45 years and never have any complaints. This year would of been the same because I had a good week other then minor things. As I was checking out I reminded her I would like the cabin for next year and she informed me that I would have to have a different cabin because it was already rented out. I asked about why I didn't get first choice and she told a story that we both knew was a lie. She said she would figure something out and call that night but never did. I feel it's poor business practice how they are choosing to run it.

Our family rented 5 of their 7 cabins and brought 12 people and 5 dogs.

Upon check in the owner Bill was unpleasant, but oh well.

Then later, the family with the other 2 cabins brought over their dog and set them down next to one of our dogs. One of our other dogs then broke free of the cabin and ran over to the puppy they again brought over to us. Our dog that broke free is a 10lb rat terrier. Our terrier came out barking but ultimately had a typical dog encounter with growling but no biting. Not an attack.

The next day the owner, Sandy, came over to each of the 5 cabins with a nasty aggressive tone and screeched at us without asking what happened or discussing the incident in a civil, much less polite, way.

No business should be handled that way.

The blessing is the rude owners only stop by for 30 minutes everyday, otherwise you're on your own.

The cleanliness of the cabins are what you'd expect for a beach place that allows dogs, which is what we were looking for. The dishes, silverware and cookware is not adequate or standardized. We cobbled together enough since we had 5 cabins. One had a colander, one had a great fry pan. One had silverware, but only two glasses, one had the opposite. If there is something you care about rent 5 cabins or bring it yourself. I brought my good knives but there was no cutting board in any of our cabins. They have ice and wood for purchase which is convenient and not typical.

The outdoor space at Aquarium and Love Shack is great. We brought foldable nylon chairs and were glad we did because some of the provided seating is uncomfortable and there wasn't quite enough. Parking is sort of a problem if you have larger vehicles. The bathrooms at Aquarium and Bird House are too small to turn around. If you were obese then its possible you couldn't get in and close the door or use the toilet.

This property has more biting flies than any place we have ever stayed in the US or overseas. There are also generous amounts of mayflies and mosquitos. There are properties on each side that are swamps. There is also a tide pool for breeding on this property. We sprayed ourselves and dogs every couple hours with deet and still were driven inside for hours per day. Owners should spray for bugs.

The location is good, but there are other places in Oscoda with better owners. We have booked others in the past and only got this place because we waited to book late and it was all that was available. No need to wonder why.

These cabins were super cute and we loved our stay.
Beautiful sunrise. Nothing really to do in the area but who needs to do anything when your at the beach....I don't!
Love the bonfire pits on the beach, volley ball, horse shoes, jungle gym for the kiddos if you bring them. We even played cards on our little deck. Also access to ice and fire wood for a small fee.

We will be back June 2017 and we booked more cabins this time. Going to be a summer blast on the beach

The owners are cowards. They double booked our cabin and have not even reached out to us. All our emails and calls have been left unanswered. Tripadvisor.com has reached out to us multiple times and have encouraged the owners too also but they have not. Rhey left us high and dry with nowhere to stay !!

Came in for a weekend getaway. Standing in the kitchen when the light fixture fell and almost hit me in the head, no hot water, no shower head on the shower it was laying on the bottom of the shower, then was charged for smoking in the cabin. No one smoked inside they went outside on the deck. When asked about the 150 that was charged to my card she said it was a smoking fee. The owner insisted someone was smoking inside. She said there was hot water when she cleaned the cabin. Later she emailed and said the hot water breaker was tripped. So she lied when she said there was hot water when she cleaned just like she stole my 150 when she said there was smoking. I guess since this was the first time the cabin was open since the Covid outbreak she assumes its ok to steal peoples hard earned money. Beware!!!
