Had a restful night and we always stay here if need be. We have never had a bad experience when we stayed. I ask for a lower floor I know I will recieve one. They also have breakfast. Beds are comfortable and big enough for a restful sleep. Very clean.

Terrible experience! The owners are rude especially to my family who had to get help from a church in town to find a place to stay due to being homeless. the church helped us stay in the hotel for a night. we asked the man at the front desk if we could have an extra half hour to checkout due to me getting out of work late to pack all my belongings. the man said it was ok. the man and woman owners at front desk told us we had to leave now because we didnt have to pay for the hotel the church did. so i guess if someone helps you and gets you into the hotel they frown at you and treat you bad. some service and management, youd think theyd treat their customers with better respect. thats a joke. on top of that we found the nasty stink bugs in the bed crawling around uner our pillows. id think twice before staying there. (#1 poor service and treated unfairly by management) (#2 bugs in your bed)

I alongside a colleague, had to visit Portland(MI) on a business trip and we stayed here for three weeks, and we had fantastic experience. American Heritage Inn is owned and managed by Sam and family, and they do it fabulously. The rooms are clean, a nice pool and the breakfast. Since we stayed for long and understanding our food reservations , they arranged everything according to our choice. They also gave us a tour of cities close by Portland and. I’m extremely happy that we stayed here and can’t thank enough them for making it a pleasant stay. Best regards!

I and my family were travelling to Muskegon and on our way our car tyre exploded, thank god we found this little hotel which was on I 96 exit 77, the hotel is Independently owned by a family but i was really amazing when we entered the hotel, the rooms were clean, pool was really nice and warm, not too pricey as well. Th front desk staff Mallika welcomed us with a great smile, heads up to the cleaning staff, again the cleaning staff were the owners itself, room smells great. Loved this little hotel. Will be back for sure

On our way back to the Metro Detroit area, my husband's car overheated and fried the motor. Just off exit 67. Thankfully though, we were a 4 minute walk from Heritage Inn. Sam (the man behind the counter) drove us back over to the car to leave a note (AAA was coming to tow but we didn't want the cops to get their first). He also gave us water and set us up with this huge room! King size bed, couch, beautiful view of the trees out back and the bathroom was perfect, a ton of counter space and they even had nice argan oil shampoo. By far the cleanest room I've seen in a hotel before. It was a bummer my husband's car died on 4th of July but we got to watch fireworks on the TV in our room. We're thinking of making this into a tradition now. It was fun to get some walking in, and even though we were only an hour away from home. Everyone in Portland we encountered was so nice!! When our car broke down we counted. Atleast 7! Different cars stopped to ask if we needed help. We're really thankful to have broken down here. I got a nice little adventure with my husband (: Thank you Sam!! Happy 4th of July!!! (:
