Absolutely beautiful Inn. Our stays have been incredibly memorable because of the atmosphere, lake location, and more importantly, the thoughtfulness and warm invitation of the owners and staff who serve their guests. Perfect place to truly enjoy some peace and relaxation.

The Wizard's Room with two twin beds and a private porch was perfect for me and my mom this week. The vibe is so calm and quirky and beautiful. I felt pampered by Sherry in particular ringing the small bell at 9am each morning to gently call us to breakfast. The flowers in the front, on our porch, and in the wildflower area were so lovely. We were visited by hummingbirds both evenings at the feeder by the private porch and goldfinches at the feeder viewed on the patio at breakfast. I walked no more than 1 min to the shore of Lake Huron to dip my feet and collect rocks. If you want to feel immediately relaxed visit this lovely B and B!

GROSS! My family and I stayed at the Inn's cottage. When we arrived for our reservation the cottage was hot & stinky. Windows were closed up and no air conditioning running on a hot summer's day. There is 1 small window air conditioner for the entire place. Besides the heat, the first thing you notice is the gross, mildewy smell when you walk in the front door. Smells like Grandma's attic. Plus, black mold all around the bathtub. The Master Bedroom bed felt like a concrete slab. And what they don't show you on the website is that 3 out of 4 beds are actually in an attached garage & literally placed next to the Inn's storage area of vacuum cleaners, towels etc. Speaking of supplies, they don't even supply toilet paper. At least they were kind enough to supply a fly swatter, so you could swat at all the flying insects landing on you while you're trying to sleep in a garage. Then the cleaning lady busts in the cottage the next morning to do loads of laundry during your stay. We were scheduled to stay 2 nights but we couldn't handle 1 more night and chose to stay at another hotel. If you make the mistake of staying at this place, BYOTP (bring your own toilet paper) and be prepared for a rough night ahead. Before writing this review I brought my concerns to the hotel owner. She was rudely dismissive and refused to refund us for the extra night.

+1
I booked a 2 night stay for my in-laws as I was staying nearby on my sailboat. The Purple Martin Inn and it’s owner, Cindy, far exceeded my expectations and I was blown away by the hospitality and amazing weekend staying here. The property itself is very quaint and full of unique spaces to enjoy the lakefront setting surrounded by interesting decor and the natural beauty of Lake Huron. Cindy made us feel very welcome and went above and beyond to provide an amazing stay for my inlaws while allowing us to visit them and enjoy the gazebo area. The setting is magical at night while sitting in the outdoor gazebo area with candlelight, conversing with other guests over a glass of wine while listening to the waves and admiring the stars. I highly recommend booking this property! You won’t regret it.

Loved staying in Mothers Cottage. Our teen boys thought the bunk room/ sitting room was awesome. They loved hanging there when we weren’t out and about the wonderful town. Super clean. The Purple Martin Inn is so very eclectic and warm. Customer service was spot on (smart that they’ll text message with you - so much easier). And, be sure to visit with Larry, who owns the place. He is so kind and makes you feel right at home. You’ll know you’re in the right place for your vacation.

I came by myself to have a respite from living in the city and visited some friends in nearby town. On a whim I had heard about this place from a friend. Cindy and Larry were the most friendly and welcoming people! The place is so unique and filled with things to look and write about! Its class and ecclectic style is truly unique! The nature surrounding this gem was perfect and just what I needed. Thank you Cindy and Larry! I will Definately be back! Loved my breakfast and appreciated how clean it was. Thank you!

It’s even better than we saw on Under this Radar Michigan! The inn is beautiful with amazing views and short walk to Lake Huron. Rooms are comfortable. Breakfast was delicious. Loved our great conversations with other couples and owners. A real place to relax and unwind.

We had an amazing time here. The owner happened to be there when we arrived and was incredibly welcoming and friendly. The view is amazing, the rooms are cozy, and the property is beautiful. There is easy access to a terrific restaurant and downtown is walkable. I highly recommend it! We will be back.
