We didn't expect much from a last-minute reservation in a Rogers City motel, but North Star managed to be worse than I thought. Uneven thinly-carpeted damp floors. Bare-sided box springs. Thick cobwebs behind bed boards. Cracked, black-edged bathroom tile. Cracked shower surround. Killed two big earwigs in 24 hours. Bathroom sink drained very slowly. Not sure the air conditioning was working - very warm. Hard to sleep. Alarm clock broken. No housekeeping on the second day. Stained bedsheets. Pool too scary to use.

Room was very clean and well maintained. The owner was very friendly and gave great recommendations for things to do and a place for breakfast. Unit was quiet and provided a good nights rest. Note that the location Google maps gave was not the actual location of the motel. Has Direct TV and a heated swimming pool; unsure about wi-fi capability. The room also had a refrigerator, microwave and coffee pot.
