We had a very nice stay at the Harborview Motel! It was somewhat unusual, but very clean, very quiet, and all for around $125.00, which included a whirlpool tub in the room! When we arrived (about 5pm), Candice was waiting for us and check-in took about 1 minute! The only reason it took a bit longer was that we asked for restaurant recommendations, and we went to the places she recommended: JackSS for dinner and The Lodge for breakfast. Overall, very nice. We would stay here again.

We enjoyed our stay here very much. This is an older style motel which has been updated as much as the original format allows. The improvements are modern, clean, and well done. The general appearance demonstrates thoughtfulness and care, from the nicely displayed additional supplies in the common area to the Pfaltzgraff China mugs in our room.
It’s a small motel, eight rooms (I think), but provides a fire pit, gas grill, and garden table under a canopy on a well maintained lawn. Our room was small, by today’s standards, with a double bed, small desk, coffee maker, and dorm-fridge/freezer, but clean. Carpet, bathroom flooring, sink, toilet, shower/tub all all new. Towels and face cloths are also new and nice and thick.

We often stay at resorts or boutique hotels, but my husband found this. I was very skeptical and had low expectations.
What a great surprise. The entire facility is remodeled. Our family of 4 and our medium size dog could easily have stayed for a week vacation. We actually just came for one night and I highly recommend
There are lots of extra touches that keep this place with a 1950s motor lodge hotel..but totally updated and all new for 2022. We had a garden tub/ jacuzzi. Kids and husband were very excited for that. Bathrooms is nice, fancy toiletries. Mini fridge and there must be a community microwave because in addition to coffee there is a bag of microwave popcorn. Wall mounted tv. A bench area for two for eating a perfect size soda. Linens and towels are all high quality
Easily the best hotel I have ever stayed in "up north". Tawas is a hidden gem.

Disappointing, especially given the positive reviews. A bare bones operation. The room was very small. It was impossible to have it dark at night because of an enclosure along the front, which helps reduce noise from the highway. It's very brightly lit all night, and there's no way to block it from shining into the rooms. The breakfast was practically nonexistent... no milks or juices, just a few muffins and sugary oatmeal packets. Poor insulation between rooms; I could hear my neighbors clearly. And it's right next to train tracks. The charge is way too high.

We had a wonderful overnight stay for our anniversary. Everything was so clean, in fact my husband said "this is the cleanest inn, hotel, bnb, or cottage we have ever stayed in". Clean is so important, welcoming and let us truly enjoy our stay. The rooms are nicely updated and bed very comfortable.
We drove up to Oscoda to do the Iosco Explorer trail riding bikes on the new 5 miles of fine gravel path from the oscoda high school to the campground along river road and the 2.7 miles from mill street bridge in Oscoda to the high school. Had a delicious dinner in Tawas at the boathouse grill, about a mile north of of the harborview inn/motel. The bike trail going to Alabaster from Tawas is right across the street and a wonderful trail we enjoyed the next day.
We swam at the middle Tawas park, about a mile north with 2 big beaches. We would highly recommend the Harborview Motel for it's comfort, cleanliness and personal welcome/care. The continental breakfast was great, including microwave oatmeal along with some fruit, muffins, pastry and of course coffee, tea.

On the outside it looks very well kept up but a modest 1950s era looking motel. I am staying in room three. It has 2 beds and a jacuzzi. The room is very big and in outstanding condition. It could not be any cleaner. I could not be more impressed with the place as a whole. I have been to all fifty states over the last 50 years and stayed in motels for decades. I have stayed at some really poor motels and all the way to the Waldorf Astoria. As far as small family owned motels are concerned this is probably the best one I have ever experienced in my decades of travels. Tawas is a beautiful town on the shores of Lake Huron.

Loved our stay! We chose to stay here, based on their top rating, and it is well deserved. Everything is newly remodeled, and sparkling clean. Owner is very friendly, and made us feel like family! We were here in the offseason, but it’s across the street from beaches, marinas, etc. We will be back!

We stayed two nights here; wish we could have stayed longer. Reminiscent of the motels of the 50s and 60s in the initial appearance. The outside was very well maintained; almost looked new. There were some chairs and a comfy looking fire pit. Our room was way beyond what we expected. First off, it was very spacious. The bed was wonderfully comfortable. Nice little nook for dining or popping the popcorn they supplied. And in the morning they had pastries, fruit and coffee. We travel a lot and have stayed in all the cookie cutter hotels. I would rather stay at the Harbor View any time. Oh, and Lake Huron is right across the street.

Loved this place because it had ample space, a great shower and comfy bed. In fact I had one of the best nights sleep ever. Well worth the money and a good location near Lake Huron! Beautiful little town to explore with many parks and good restaurants. Great stay and highly recommended!

I normally would not take a chance on a motel that had only 8 reviews but something told me to take a chance and I was glad we did. We stayed in room 13 which was themed "french quarters". We found the room exceptionally clean and well appointed. We also found the room set up well thought out and unlike any we've every experienced, in a cool, unique way. The TV in our room, while not a flat screen, rotated so it could be seen from the bed, the hot tub, or the table and chair set. Many channel options were also available. Normally I cringe when I see a wall mounted heat/ air conditioning unit. No matter how careful we are we can never get the temperature adjusted to a steady level. This unit was wired into a dial type thermometer which gave us no problems. Visiting with the owners you realize this is a real labor of love and they really enjoy what they're doing. It shows in their attention to details in their rooms. If there was a negative to our stay we found the bed too hard for our taste. Others may love it, we're just used to a softer sleep surface. Overall, for less than $100 dollars a night we thought we got a great deal and we'd stay here again.
