Wind in the Pines is a great place to stay if you prefer peace and quiet to the busyness of staying in Traverse City. My wife and I used it as a two-night base from which we played golf along Lake Michigan, visited a vineyard and dined at a couple of the best restaurants in TC. Wind in the Pines...

We were looking for a B & B outside of Traverse City to avoid the summer crush of tourists. This spot is less than 10 minutes from downtown and miles away from the crowds. Great! The house itself a fairly new and very clean--spotless. We stayed in the Bear Room and found it spacious and comfortable. The public rooms were...

We were in Traverse City for a family function over a long weekend. Our two boys and their significant others and we booked all the bedrooms for three nights. We couldn't have been more pleased with the accommodations. Dietmar and Marion are the most gracious of hosts, and they are quite talented in the kitchen. We were absolutely spoiled by...

Thanks Dietmar and Marion, for a lovely comfortable stay. Beautiful breakfast and room - Pine Cone. Loved the fact we could have hot drinks when ever we wanted . Only negative point is that at breakfast we didn't get to see you as the table was all laid out before we arrived. Lynne and Robert UK

This beautiful log cabin B&B is located close to Traverse City but nestled in a wooded area in a rural setting. The property is beautifully landscaped. There is a brick patio covered by the pergola with a screen topper offering a shady spot to sit and sip a drink, read a book, or simply enjoy the tinkling of the wind...

After our great stay at Wind in the pines in spring 2013 with the Innkeepers Marion and Dietmar, we went back for the winter in February 2014. The "Innsitters" Maria and Adriano are just wonderful hosts, the food was delicious, everything perfectly clean! We went with them (and Spotty, such a sweet dog!) for a snowshoe tour, just straight off...

On a whim we stayed here and I was so nervous about staying there but I shouldn't have been. The sweet German couple who owned it were awesome! They tried to please us at every turn and their breakfasts were amazing and very European. We would stay here again no questions asked.

We stayed two nights in October. The building was designed as a B&B, which makes it work well. Bedroom was generous size; common room upstairs was also roomy. Very clean and neat, nice landscaping, lovely hosts. It is an easy 10 minute drive from downtown Traverse City, which suited us fine. Light on the amenities but not a big deal....

The Wind in the Pines is a beautiful and well maintained BnB just outside Traverse City with the feel of nature inside and out. Cleanliness must be their watchword as the accommodations were spotless! Dietmar and Marion were the perfect hosts, very friendly and welcoming, but non intrusive. Our breakfast was wonderful and Marion took our dietary needs into consideration....

My husband and I have stayed here twice and love it. The owners are very hospitable and make amazing breakfasts. I've stayed at several B&Bs and this one is exceptional. Great place to stay if you're visiting Traverse City -- it's close to town, but away from the hustle and bustle. Always a relaxing, enjoyable stay.
