Positives: - Close to mini golf and a couple of restaurants - fair price compared to the rest of Traverse City - staff was helpful and friendly Negatives: - Outdated property with an old smoker’s smell that lingers - still a distance away from the “touristy stuff” Overall it was okay for what it was. In most places this would be priced much cheaper but everything seems to be expensive in TC. Plan to drive most places.
Enjoyed our 2 day stay here at the GrandStay. We had a suite that was very comfortable and had amenities that we have come to expect - refrigerator and microwave. The bed was very good and the HVAC worked perfectly. There is an elevator in the building, which is helpful. Parking was secure and staff was very accommodating. Would stay again.
Awful Experience! The hallway and room smelled of stale smoke in nonsmoking Hotel! The window had to be left open all night and the air left on all night on a cool night to circulate fresh air. The vent in the bathroom did not work. There was black mold around the shower and on the floor. The beds were extremely uncomfortable. The adult sack breakfast left a lot to be desired and the refrigerator did not get very cold. All of these items were brought to the attention of the desk clerk, hotel manager and hotel chain corporate manager and not one of them were concerned about the problems. Will definitely not stay there in the future. Disappointing experience for 1st Mother / Daughter Vacation!
Yes this is a budget friendly hotel, but we had a great experience. Our room was clean and a good size for 2 of us. Fridge and microwave in room. They are tight on covid precautions, which I appreciate, but they are honest and tell you everything up front. If you're missing something, just ask - front desk was very accommodating. Coffee at the desk too. Easy drive downtown or around the area, plenty of parking. Next to putt putt and ice cream if you want something else to do! Low water pressure in the shower.
Very basic room. Summer rates are high for what you get. Next to Pirates Cove Go-cart track and put-put golf. Noise stops when they close. Wake call is the leaf blowing crew blowing off the track, every morning. Bathroom ceiling tiles are rusty, needs painting. Windows open but it would be nice if they ever cleaned them. Screen had a tear in it. Free b'fast bag. Very busy traffic and construction on Munson Ave. (31).
