This is the second year our Hands All Around Quilt Group has had a quilt retreat at the Bay Shore. Last year we went for 3 days and 2 night and the experience was so wonderful that we increased it to 4 days and 3 nights this year and we have all decided that is the perfect amount of time....

My wife and I just spent the weekend there and got hit with a room rate much higher than quoted and they wouldn't budge. My wife took good notes and was aware of her corporate ceiling when she booked. They said it would be $128 which was fine and billed $178 and wouldn't budge. After an hour on the phone...

We apologize that your stay with us was not up to our normal standards and reviews. Your wife was a part of a conference in town and was given a discounted rate that went along with the conference. This discounted rate was offered through the conference for one night only. Our rates, like those of all hotels in this area,...

We've stayed here before. It's an acceptable hotel in many waysbut it is behind the times. Rooms look dated, old cheap hotel style. Wallpaper in bathroom is peeling. Bedding is old, not contemporary. No frig, microwave or coffeepot in room. Staff was very nice and helpful, friendly.

Nice place, must be really nice when the weather is good. Visited on a cool and rainy couple of days in late September. Room was outstanding- good view, in room hot tub. Bed was a king and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent - all you want. Excellent location next to downtown.

The value in Traverse City hotels is hard to find. The balcony had a lovely view and was wonderful late in the evening, with stars over the bay. The room was clean but the decor was not so great. The bed was comfortable. Food venues are all downtown and it is a bit of a walk. The coffee must have...

Thank you for staying with us this fall. We are pleased that you enjoyed the room balconies and bay views. Our decor is Victorian, which may not be for everyone, but we are glad that you still were able to enjoy your room and bed. We are also glad that you enjoyed the coffee in the lobby and at breakfast....

my husband & I have been here before a few times and really like the hotel's staff & location. Beautiful views of Traverse Bay from balcony. Pros: great location, good sized rooms, charming decor, nice indoor pool, very comfortable, good breakfast, front desk staff very helpful. Cons: bad coffee (as someone else pointed out), grumpy breakfast room staff, no fridge...

Employees here were very welcoming and helpful - and actually carried on conversations with interest. We have stayed in many hotels in our travels and this is the cleanest most well maintained hotel we have ever stayed in ! It is clear they pride themselves on cleanliness. No fake spray smells when entering the room - very nice. Stepped off...

I used to love the Bayshore and always thought it was a good value, but something has shifted. The rooms are still nice and the hotel is still clean but the service not quite what it used to be, the coffee is like colored water and the price seems a bit high for what you get. Breakfast is standard hotel...

My husband booked a lakefront suite for my birthday. The suite was huge with a giant whirlpool tub between the separate bedroom and the living area, which had a gas fireplace. The room was very clean and comfortable. There is a balcony looking out on Grand Traverse Bay which we enjoyed very much. The beach was lovely with lots of...

Thank you for your review of your last stay with us. We are honored that you chose to spend your birthday with us and are glad that you had a nice time! Thank you for the kind remarks about the hotel's cleanliness and beach front location. The breakfast room does become crowded during peak breakfast hours, however, we hope that...
