Website didn't do it justice. Beautiful, peaceful spot. Lovely buildings and landscaping. We had a room in Livery East and were really impressed. Owner was very professional and could tell he really wanted his visitors to enjoy their stay. He and his wife are an older couple, and you could tell through the ambiance that they really have tried to...

My wife and another couple share a short anniversary getaway and could not have been more happy with our short stay at The Shack. The cottage / cabin feel was a nice change of pace and our rooms were clean and well kept. We enjoyed a walk on the trail, the spacious room with a fireplace and a place for...

We stayed as a family, along with our extended family group. We had 6 rooms all together. Very nice secluded setting on a beautiful lake, we enjoyed the riding the pedal boats. The dinner cookout at the pavilion was good, also the breakfast buffet was simple, but good. The banana splits were good! We really enjoyed the hot tub in...

The Shack is set in a beautiful area on a small lake. It has a very "lodge" atmosphere. The staff was friendly. The dinner that comes with the price of your stay was ok, as well as the breakfast buffet. The best part of the Shack is the beautiful view from the back porch area, out toward the lake. We...

Staff was very accommodating. Party of 50 came in, and all were treated as individuals. Buffet was simple but good. Quiet area that has many benches tucked away to sit and watch the scenery. The included banana plaits were a bonus, dipped by a guy that has been doing it for over 30 years. We were pleasantly surprised to get...

What great potential this place has for a wonderful getaway! A lake, a great pitch, a rustic building and banana splits! The grounds are spectacular. There's a museum, a sugar shack and many beautiful outbuildings that are well Maintained. You could spend hours just watching the water skiers and boaters. Unfortunately, there are areas that need attention: *Rooms in the...

We went to The Shack for a couple's retreat. Loved it. We had a non lake view room with a jacuzzi. The room was comfortable. Room service simply replaces towels and empties trash so don't expect hotel service. There also is no room service. Meal times are limited and it is buffer style. The Shack is a large facility but...

A wonderful place to get away from it all. Very peaceful and relaxing. The grounds are beautifully maintained with a walking trail and lake. No beach. They do have paddle boats. Across the lake is the public access if you have any other watercraft. The owner and staff were great. They made you feel very welcome. Our room had that...

We traveled here for a fishing trip and needed a place to sleep for a night. When we checked in the owner welcomed us in, showed and explained the map of the grounds and gave us our dinner, banana split, and breakfast times. We webt to our room and there was a jetted tub, microwave, fire place and mini fridge....
