Bernie and his family were extremely courteous and staff were more than willing to assist and answer our questions. I really enjoyed my day trip to the boundary waters of Basswood Lake. The week that we went to lodge on Lake Shagawa the fishing activity was slow. But the day trip made up for it and we were catching fish...

We have decided this is one of our favorite places. We just returned from our trip today and are wishing we were still there. The lake is just beautiful! The first morning as we walked onto the dock, a doe and her spotted fawn were directly across from us on the shore. There was also a duck family we watched...

We stayed in eagle cabin # 4- beautiful view but not on the water. The staff were so friendly & helpful. Big bonus points is that they accept pets for a small fee. Each cabin comes with a pontoon to use. The cabins were very nice and clean. I have included some pics.

We stayed in the smallest cabin, which was very cozy, but comfy enough. The kitchen was better equipped than many fancier rental houses we stayed in..And the hot water was hot, the shower was good and the deck was large. The fact that a pontoon is included with each rental is a big plus. The staff is most kind, welcoming...

Bernie and his Family make your stay great. The cabins are clean and filled with everything you will need. There is two cabins right on the lake and the rest are no more then a couple of yards from the lake. There is good fishing on Shagwa lake and there is also two great nice lakes just a short drive...

Lady Bug Lodge is a great place to stay. My 10 yr old grandson and I just returned form a 4 day stay. He wanted to catch fish and Bernie made sure he caught them-- lots of them. Everyone at the resort was wonderful.

We stayed for 3 nights on Labor Day weekend. Rented the Lakeside Cabin (would never think of doing anything else), You get a pontoon for your whole stay. Nice deck overhanging the lake, fire ring, wonderful views out the windows. Bernie and the staff are great. Looking forward to another visit. Henry the hound greeted us on arrival. No TV,...

We stayed at Bayside cabin for 5 days last week and had a wonderful time. The cabin was right on the lake with our pontoon boat parked right at the door. The cabins are not fancy but clean and comfortable. The staff were unbelievable. They were friendly, helpful and always willing to answer questions and provide wonderful service in any...

We didn't stay at the lodge, but rented a canoe from them. The service was great. They even offered to pro-rate the fee if we didn't say out the whole time. (But, I think it was only $18 for three or four hours to begin with.) They brought the canoe right to the edge of the lake for us and...

My husband and I stayed in the Boathouse condo. We had a great veiw of the lake and the free use of the pontoon was really wonderful. We went fishing every day and that was really fun. We caught at least 8 fish caugt, good size too. The condo was very clean and well equipped. The staff, Bernie and his...

“Ask for a lakeside cabin...but if you don't get that, no big deal, the others seem just as nice and probably more private.”
