Places to stay are graded on a 0-100 scale. The higher the grade, the easier it is for travellers to find restaurants and things to do within walking distance.
"The hotel is situated in a good location. Just behind it is the Sunway Convention Centre which is connected to a shopping mall (very modern and nice). However to get there one will have to walk (too close to drive or hail a taxi) - exposed to the elements! Checking in was a breeze. I drove to Seberang Jaya and upon arrival I parked in their open car carpark (no basement parking) and their conceige was alert and came to help me with my luggage. The front desk staff though a little bit inexperienced are very friendly and helpful. Can tell that they are really trying their best to make sure they leave a good impression , Breakfast at the coffeehouse is acceptable. The coffeehouse is also a bit small but they have fairly large furnishing. Food is tasty and the staff there are attentive and friendly.
All in all a good experience during covid-19 experience. Good hotel to stay in.

Comparing this against the hotel just across the property, this hotel is in every bit worse if you are someone who pays attention to details; bed being a little hard, kettle with plastic interior instead of stainless steel, toilet bowl flush that is weak, TV screen that is insanely small by today's standards.
My biggest gripe is the lack of parking spaces and the jockeys wanted to collect RM20 for parking service. My advise to management: this is a hotel, not a shopping mall. Considering majority of your guests are locals you should expect that majority would be driving to your property. Therefore, it is inexcusable not to provide sufficient parking spaces.
That said, it is still a decent place to stay considering choices are pretty limited around this area.

The exterior of the hotel looks old and dated, but the room is nice and clean. Value for money as breakfast is provided and location is very good as there are many eateries within walking distance. There are some final construction works on the Sunway Medical Group next door, but noise is kept at a minimum. Will come again.

Stayed here while in Penang. Very friendly staff from check in to restaurant. The hotel is perfect for business or holiday stay with all you need to enjoy a great break. Me & my husband really suprised that our duluxe room was upgrade tu suite room without any additional charge! Tq Ms Punitha to choose us for a lucky guest on that day.Sincerely no other hotel do like sunway hotel seb jaya did which is they choose the guest randomly who stay at their hotel for the first time & upgrade the room.I wish the other hotel also can do like sunway hotel do.

A very pleasant place to stay with good rooms and smoke free. Staff is very attentive and very helpful.
Dining area in Sunway hotel is close while other places are open outside this hotel for dine in with strict SOP.those who book with breakfast will be given prepack food. Even though prepack ,quality and taste wise ,it is very good .

Stayed at Sunway on several previous visits to Penang and can normally guarantee a level of good service.
The rooms are comfy and have everything you expect from a quality hotel.
The staff are attentive and very friendly.
The reason I have not given a better rating, the buffet breakfast is lacking and doesn't compare to previous visits. The choice is greatly reduced and disappointing.
But overall, a pleasant stay. 😀

I have upgraded my room to a suite with my young children (4, 5 and 10). When I checked in, I wondered if the room included breakfast for the children, and the receptionist said yes, for children under five years old. I felt cheated by the hotel and disappointed with the staff for asking me to pay for the breakfast when we went to the restaurant for breakfast.

Stay here for 5 days. It is very worth to stay here. Every staff from parking, front office, housekeping , staff in cafe are really helpful. If you need any help, just inform them. They will help to assist you. Parking is limited and no basement parking. No swimming pool also but it is okay. Room are medium size suitable for 2 adults and 2 child. Room and bathroom very clean. Cafe provide tasty breakfast.
Sunway carnival mall located at the back of hotel but you need to walk about 5- 10 minutes. Mall Not too far , not too near from hotel. Many shops to eat around here.
Overall I really love to stay here and will recommend to others.
