We usually stay in the main lodge and have always been very satisfied, but this time we stayed in Cabin 11 for three nights. It is a very clean, charming cottage with a wonderful wood-burning stone fireplace that we enjoyed every night. It has a nice-sized bathroom and a very comfortable queen bed. You access the cottage by crossing a...

Thanks so much for your fine review and I really appreciate you being a repeat guest. I'm glad you liked Cabin 11, a lot of guests call that our "honeymoon" cabin. Have a great spring and hope to see you again soon! Michael O'Phelan, Owner

Cascade Lodge was exactly the kind of place I was looking for to stay while skiing at Lutsen Mountains. Close enough for an easy ride to/from the resort (<15 minutes), but far enough away that you don't feel like all the mountain's visitors are right on top of you. Yeah, you say, but what about dining and socializing? Well, they...

We stayed back in Sept. of 16' and had a nice little vacation. The restaurant had awesome breakfasts and burgers. A very short walk simply across the highway was Lake Superior. Close to Grand Marais, but not to close. When we go back we're going to get a cabin.

Thanks for your review of our property--I love the description "close but not too close." It's a great way to put it, you can enjoy one of America's favorite small towns but stay close to nature when you are here at Cascade Lodge! I think you will love our cabins, great decision. Look forward to your return visit. Michael O'Phelan...

My husband, 8 year old daughter and I spent three nights in cabin 10 for New Years. Very beautiful, rustic cabin. Loved the hiking/skiing/snowshoeing trails that were right outside the door. The cabin had all the necessities of home except a kettle for tea. The bed and futon met our needs. The main lodge was charming as well as the...

The Cascade Lodge is a great older property just steps away from Lake Superior, and a few miles from Lutsen. It is older, but very quaint and clean. The lodge has a reading room with couches and games, and several cabins. I would definitely stay here again.

Stayed over the Christmas weekend in their "suite." Accommodations were pretty much what you expect in Minnesota lodge-style offerings. In the rooms, the floor lamp was obviously bought at someone's garage sale; the table lamp had electricity to the bulb, so it had that going for it, but the rest of the lamp was pretty much "dis-assembled." The real burn...

I saw your same review on another site and apologized. Here it is again, I'm really sorry, our system should not have allowed you to purchase the package you did. We were closed Christmas day to allow our employees some time with their families. Michael O'Phelan, Owner

Great rustic cabin getaway with hiking trails out our door along the Cascade River- beautiful views and between Lutsen and Grand Marias. The staff was very friendly and informative. I would recommend to anyone wanting to disconnect from all the hustle and bustle. Most relaxing and enjoyable weekend.

Relaxing time at Cascade as usual! We've been spending time here off and on for 34 years. The experience is timelessly refreshing! Cabin 1 is cozy and refreshing. Stoke the fireplace, sit back, relax and enjoy the Lake Superior view.

I researched a number of North Shore resorts for our mid-November birthday retreat and landed on Cascade in part because of the variety of accommodations and their restaurant was a very short walk over a cool rustic stone arch bridge from the lodge. We arrived and were warmly greeted by Josh who was patient enough to let us explore a...

We stayed in one of the cabins which was perfect! The cabin had a word burning fireplace which added to the charming atmosphere on our wet, cold October weekend. One of the main reasons we chose Cascade Lodge was because they allow dogs in their cabins. We received a VERY warm welcome for our furry baby as they had an...
