During one of my regular visits to Exeter my accomodation was cancelled at short notice so I was found rooms at Chatfield for myself and a business colleague. Lesley is a very friendly host and provided everything we needed. It is an extremely pleasant, relaxing B and B. My only criticism is that the room I had did not have an en-suite but a shared bathroon down the corridor. It didn't cause an inconvenience, apart from having to put on a dressing gown every time I went to the bathroom, as there was no-one in the other bedroom. Overall a good value B and B.

I have stated at Chatfield twice, once over night & a 2 night stay, very pleasant stay & lovely lady that let me leave a car on her drive once we had booked out until I was ready to make my way home later that day.

This B and B was recommended by friends who live nearby. The location was perfect for us to go to the Puffing Billy local pub and our wedding reception and we could walk to both venues. The rooms were very comfortable and had all the amenities necessary and we were given ironing facilities to use. Lesley was very welcoming, kind and helpful during our stay and breakfast was lovely too. I would definitely stay here again.

I stayed here at the end of May, and had a lovely stay. I've been thinking about if I should give this a 4 or a 5 and I've decided to give it a 5! It's not a "5 star" place, but it doesn't makes it out to be that either. It's everything I needed and wanted! Lesley was very friendly and welcoming. She knew that I was in a rush for a wedding so she very briefly told me what I needed to know, gave me the key and told me where I would find her if I needed anything, which I really appreciate as I didn't want to be rude as I was in a rush. Room wasn't massive, but it wasn't advertised to be, just what I needed. Very clean with everything you expect (en suite, tv, hot drinks, etc). Breakfast was lovely. Nice to sit around a very large table. Only one other couple at breakfast who were very pleasant to talk to at breakfast. I will definitely stay here again if im heading this way and would highly recommend staying here!

Why do I keep going back ? Good location for most of Devon. Comfortable and clean. Always a good welcome from Lesley and good breakfast. Yes the main road is noisy at peak hours but the windows are double glazed. Exton is a pleasant village and the Puffing Billy pub/restaurant is just a few minutes walk. There is an excellent walk along the River Exe to Lympstone and Exmouth.
