Nice hotel, big room, unfortunately the towels and bed linen have a bit musty smell. Appears the hotel laundry is either saving on softener or omitting it altogether. First time I ever have stay in a hotel with a fast food outlet, a chicken rice outlet combined with a Fried chicken one. Food not to bad tho. Breakfast is so & so, despite having quite a few items in the buffet.
We've checked in the hotel before 12pm. The first thing I noticed is that the girl who who were working on that day is not friendly at all. When we asked her do you have a smoking room or not, she answered with an attitude. So rude. But anyway, the room that we got was at Level 2.It was nice and cozy. The food foe breakfast that they served here was average as well. The staffs that was working at the cafe was muy bien very friendly.
Sri Aman Sarawak was previously known as Simanggang. It was a hot bed for terrorists. When peace finally came, it was renamed as Sri Aman, meaning a peaceful place. However, the hotel was named Seri Simanggang to retain its connection to the past history. The hotel is considered the most modern and luxury in Sri Aman based on local context. It has 10 floors and easily visible being the highest building in the vicinity. It is a 3-4 Star hotel depending on individual’s own experience. The room size is quite spacious and normal room cost below RM 200. The Junior Suite cost only RM270 and very spacious with living room with sifa and dining table. The aircond worked well. The water heater temperature is set at a certain temperature and the water pressure moderate. Mattress is quite OK and pillows feel like spinge but not hard. TV with bad reception. 2 FOC bottles of drinking water. All in all it is good for traveller on business to get a good sleep. It offered room rate with breakfast with reasonable spread. There are plenty of cafes and restaurants around and for Muslims the best restaurant within walking distance is Sri Tunjang on the right side as you exit the main lobby. There is also Pasar Tamu on the left side a 10 minutes walk. All in all it is quite a good a good hotel as it will take you 3 1/2 ti 4 hours ride using peace meal Pan Borneo Highway which is under construction. Considering the local context, it is the best hotel in Sri Aman, if you are fussy or concern over minor things. I would come back to this hotel when in Sri Aman. Looks overly imposing for grubby Sri Ahman, but its the only nice-ish place to stay between Sibu and Kuching. The was ZERO Wifi (wifey) in the room, and dinosaur slow in the lobby. Nowhere to eat in downtown after 7 except KFC. Oh well.
The trendiest, comfortable and peaceful place to rest in the town. You'll never missed it as its the tallest building in town. The price is affordable depend on your wallet. You get what you paid for. Check in was smooth. The staff were quite friendly. There are two elevators. The interior was just nice. The room was great, spacious and clean air. There's mini bar for hot drinks ( tea, coffee n heater). Bathroom was good with basic toiletries and towels (except bathroom slippers). Good comfortable bed. TV's channel was just nice so don't expect your " home favourite channel). Room comes with breakfast. Expect to have all Malaysian's typical breakfast. Wide spread of menus. Not that grand but of its class. Or else go for authentic local food at coffee shop around. Overall, satisfied with everything and everyone. …
This is by far the best hotel I could find in Sri Aman. Hotel room is comfortable and clean. There is room of improvement for breakfast. Some shops nearby the hotel in walking distance. Do not expect the hotel in this small town the rooms would not be fully booked, sometimes it will whenever there is function, so better book earlier.
Really not worth the price that we paid for the room. We stayed here for a night to attend a function at level 1. There is only one each miserable flat pillow for each guest. Though the room equipped with the basic necessities such as bottle drinking waters, electric kettle, hairdryer. The toiletries are truly basic. Only good things about the room that we were staying are the comfy mattress & good air-conditioner. Not a really clean hotel too.
Very reasonably priced hotel for room inclusive of breakfast. The hotel is connected to a mall (do not expect anything from this mall) There's a fast food place and a Cafe on each side of the lobby. The first impression is the key, the moment we stepped into the lobby, it was steaming hot. No air condition, no fan, just a set of sofas. Check in is not until after 2pm and we arrived at 1:30pm. We got ourself registered but have to join a long line after 2pm to pay and collect our room key. Now the room - size of the room is reasonably big. Fridge/mini bar is empty and not cold. We booked 3 rooms altogether, 2 out of 3 rooms only had 1 pair of slipper provided. The bed was very comfortable and we had a good night sleep. There's a phone in the room with no directory. We do not know how to call another room or what number to call for assistance. Our shower head was leaking. It took us one call and one trip to the reception to get it fixed and the repair man left dirty shoe mark on our bathroom floor and bath mat. There's no hand towel or wash cloth, only 2 bath towels were provided. Wi fi information was not provided upon check in. We were given the password when asked and were told that wifi don't work in the room. I think they were doing some upgrading work before. That's quite a let down. We were here to watch the famous tidal bore, which is quite a walking distance from the hotel so we drove there in the end. As good as you can get in such a small town. They provide complimentary 2 bottles of water, coffee and tea (we only found 2 sachets of coffee and no tea) room service, laundry service and complimentary parking. Breakfast was very good from buffet line to egg station to cook yourself noodles station. Overall alright for one night stay. You get what you paid for. …
I stayed here for two nights whilst working in the area. The check-in process was one of the longest I have ever experienced. However, the room was a good size, basic, but clean and comfortable. A mighty fine and sparkly bathroom surface was only bettered by a shower that was both powerful and a good height for me. I ate two Ramadan buffets in the hotel and the staff could not do enough for me, almost personally guiding me around and telling me about the dishes. Some excellent food, much enjoyed. It is far from the best hotel in which I have stayed, but it provided me with two good nights' sleep and I would be happy to stay, again, if in the area.
Sri Aman is a nice place to visit, especially during Pesta Benak or(Tidal Bore Festival ) where there are lots of people coming to the city and stayed there. I and my family stayed at Seri Simanggang Hotel, the city only 4 star hotel. It a nice place to stay, feeling safe and the staff are very friendly.
