We are travel on last year March 2021 during MCO, we choose Glass Box 1, because it has more privacy than Glass Box 2, it can be said that the house is completely invisible, and the terrace is also covered by many trees. Compared with Glass Box 2.

The design of the Glass Box is not acceptable to ordinary people, because it is a completely open bathroom and 🚻, and there is no cover facing the terrace, because there are totally no curtains, So it is more suitable for couples . . Children are also not encouraged to live because of the design of the terrace, they will fall off the side of the mountain if they are not careful. some places on the terrace are empty. If you sit up, you will be in a flat position. You need to be careful when you turn over. , don't get drunk and forget 🤣🤣

There are also many mosquitoes and ants here, advise to bring mosquito repellent and mosquito oil, otherwise it will really become a delicacy for mosquitoes🤣🤣
The air here is cooler at night and a little stuffy in the afternoon. because room is no air conditioner

The room has no mirror at all, In fact, the room is quite small, so there is no any wardrobe , but there is a refrigerator and 2 fans (one is
Ceilling Fan, one is a box Fan), Safety Box, some barbecue utensils, cups, bowls, mosquito coils, mosquito nets, showers, toilet paper, umbrellas, kettles, etc.

Maybe because of the previous incident, there are a lot of CCTV installed here, and the room is also equipped with emergency buttons, so it is safer than before. .

The hotel also will provides all barbecue utensils and charcoal grills, of course, you need to prepare your own food and drinks. . Although the hotel is not very far from the city, but is abit dangerous if driving during night. .

Booked Glassbox 1 for a Saturday night stay and it was awesome!

Read reviews - the good and the bad ones plus the instructions given in their website so came prepared with items below:
1. Clean bedsheet and pillow cases plus towels
2. Lots of food, drinking water, plastic bags (for trash) and knife. Wrapped up bbq food in aluminium foil - doubles up as plates and super easy to clean up
3. Good walking shoes/slippers - with good grip
4. Positive mind
5. Mini donuts for the Nepalese caretakers :)

Checked in at 2.15pm, met the caretaker and he was really helpful to carry my super heavy luggage (due to tons of food) up to the Glassbox 1. The road is steep and quite a walking distance so was kinda out of breath when we arrived. Room is pretty basic but awesome view. Lots of privacy from prying eyes compared to Glassbox 2. Fyi, there will some damp smell - you are staying in a rainforest, duh... Caretaker came on time to set up the charcoal for bbq despite the rain. There's two swimming pools and lots of cute paths to discover and explore.

Spending the weekend in a rainforest really helps me to forget all the stress!

It was a nice place to relax and enjoy nature, but it is not worth going back. A total of 7 other female friends and I drove to the place in 2 cars. We stayed in Warehouse 1 which cost RM1160. It is ridiculous to stay a 14-person room with just the 8 of us. However, we did so because it would be dangerous for any 2 of the girls to walk back to Glass Box 1 or 2 (2-person room) from Timber Shed 1 or 2 (6-person) after having fun till midnight, especially through the narrow path of Dragon Walk. The kind of check-in this place have is the caretakers give you a list of names, then you just point your name they will let you into the property. We drove into the property and was uncertain of the way although its literally a one-way path. We actually stopped at a smaller parking lot to discuss whether to continue move in or not because we had no one else to ask. Fortunately we found our place. There was already a caretaker there waiting for us. He allowed us to unpack our stuffs first and all we had to do was to pay the remaining amount of room rate (RM580) as the first half was paid as deposit earlier. Then informed the housekeeper the time to come to start the fire for BBQ. After that it was free and easy, we walked to the pool and enjoyed the cool air. Before that, remember to also put down the mosquito net before evening so that there will be less insects on your bed. The caretaker came right on time to start the fire for BBQ. On and off there were dogs lingering near the BBQ pit as they smelled food. Most of the girls were afraid of them and it was not really pleasant because we do not know whether they are fierce or not. Until the end of BBQ, we realised there would not be enough butter and food for the breakfast next morning, so 3 of the girls actually drove out to the nearest place to buy, it took 15 minutes to reach the supermart. After dinner, we went up to our beds to play boardgames and stuffs. Halfway through the game we saw 2 dogs came into the kitchen area, messing up the bag of rubbish to find foods like chicken bones to eat. We had to shoo them away and sweep the rubbish. We went to bed around 2am, the mosquito net did help in stopping bigger insects going to our beds but it was useless for the smaller ones. Mosquito coils are provided but it literally helped nothing. So for some of my friends who are scared of insects, there couldn't sleep well at night. Sometime later in the night, the dogs were back again. Didn't care to look at first but then they found their way to the big black rubbish bin and pushed it down. Some of my friends saw them jumped onto the table. We didn't dare to shoo them because there were like 3 of them. So whatever rubbish we threw into the rubbish bin, it was all over the floor the next day we went down. The next morning, we had bread for breakfast. We bought 2 loafs but 1 loaf was missing. Finally we found the bread plastic bag on the floor near the BBQ pit, it was the dogs who ate it yesterday night! We were really unhappy about it! Due to the dogs and insects, it was a big turn-off for the trip.

Consider well what you are looking for when you are booking this place. I read negative reviews about mosquitoes or bugs or dangers and safety. Do you want to spend a night in the heart of the jungle while having all the comforts of a home? At Sekeping you can have both but you always have to remember that YOU are a guest in the jungle so expect the little risks that are related with a wild environment. The place is well maintained and the caretakers are extremely polite and discrete. Please do never complain that the phone signal is weak, you had better leave your phone at home (or at least in the car) and enjoy the amazing concert of sounds that the forest is presenting to you. A truly magic experience.

Sekeping Serendah is a private retreat on the land. The transparent and open sheds celebrate the magnificient of the natural environment surrounding them.

The sheds are kept basic and free from lavishness. Chalets are seen more as ‘glorified tents’ to provide basic shelter for its inhabitants as commune with the land.

The place is perfect for bbq and group or couple retreat.

Please opt for (glass shed 2) if you’re going in group of 6- 8 pax or (glass box 2 ) for couples as the view of the nature and river flowng opposire chalet will make ypur retreat more beautiful.

The roads to sekepingvserendah is bit narrow as you will pass through the village. Be cautious when driving on this road. Recommended to order ypur meal with the care takers before 7pm as it will not be advisable to drive out after 8pm.

This is a private properties ( gated) & make sure you register the exact number of pax who will coming in as extra guest will not be permitted inside.

The video taken is for the glass box 2. Plan your romantic retreat with your loved ones here and rest assured you will find connected here being ONE WITH NATURE!!

Booked the warehouse 2, paid RM1940. It can easily accommodate 20ppl but their limit was 10 and we are can add another 4pax, additional charges RM200. The number of ppl limit doesn't make sense because the place is spacious.
The caretakers came and said that the noise is quite loud, the other guest complained. The guest in warehouse 1 joined us and the other units were empty. So I don't understand how can the guest complained about the noise. Actually it wasn't very noisy. We played some songs. Caretakers coming and disturbing us, just spoils the mood. At night, we ran out of gas. Couldn't fry some food. We had to start the bbq pit again and cooked some food there. They don't really check all this. Had to wait till the next morning for them to change the gas..

This resort is unique in it’s own way. I’m impressed by the overall look and design of this place. The placements of brown- coloured rustic decorations gives a contrast to the greenery in the middle of a jungle. You can never “see” how beautiful nature it is until you experience a one night stay in Sekeping Serendah retreats. Bet you could never find any place similar to this!

Stayed here in September at the glass shed.
Place is not guarded proper and locks on the balcony are well... Non existent so safety especially for young families or ladies would be an issuer. The place is also extremely eerie at night. Might even go as far as to say it's haunted. Not a suitable for those who are worried about safety security.

Visited Sekeping Serendah on the 7th and stayed the night in Warehouse 2. It was cozy and had a huge living area for us to chit chat and have fun. I was worried about the mosquitoes at first due to the fact that the place is literally one with the nature, there had no windows and air conditioning whatsoever. But to my surprise, I had zero mosquito bites. The staffs were really helpful and friendly, definitely would come again!

Hi, They charge RM 20 per head per meal. So I guess you can request for breakfast, lunch or dinner if you pay. But it's better if you go to the official website. More info there. You can have BBQ too. We had the Nepalese meal for dinner. It was good! Hope that helps! Regards, Lee
