Detailed Reviews
Stayed in this Orchard for 2D1N with my extended family for a short getaway from the city. My experience can be summarized as below:
What's impressive:
- Located the quiet area of Serendah.
- Local "kampung" style chalets with air-conditioning and great room size to accommodate a few additional occupants if needed.
- Huge orchard with lots of different type of local fruit trees (i.e. Durian, rambutan, papaya, etc) planted within the compound and guests can enjoy those fruits if in season.
- Complimentary use of shared kitchen (at common area) with eating utensils, bicycles, BBQ facilities (with charcoals and utensils provided), Darts, table tennis and fishing rod.
- Very friendly and responsive staffs. Always available to help whenever being called upon.
What to expect:
- Since it's an orchard surrounded by trees, there'll be lots of insects especially mosquitos. So prepare sufficient repellants.
- Basic room facilities with no toiletries and towels provided. So, bring your own.
- No restaurant in the orchard. Couple of options nearby the orchard (i.e. Serendah Town, Ulu Yam or Rawang) which require short drive.
- Since orchard is located in quiet area of Serendah, mobile coverage is intermittent and data coverage at time is non-existent.
What can be improved:
- Walking path from common area to chalet units are dark in the night. Should consider increasing the lighting to make the path brighter to prevent accidents.
Final Verdict:
- If you are planning for quiet private time with family / friends, this orchard may serve your purpose as it comes with BBQ pits, swimming pool, kitchen (at common area). Room facilities are basic but adequate if you are just seeking for short getaway from the hustle bustle of the city. Plan well if you intend to stay at this Orchard as proper planning can help manage the limitations of this Orchard. Ask the helpful service manager for additional info before traveling.

Last weekend, my family and I stayed at the Carpe Diem Serendah Orchard to celebrate my father in law's 60th birthday. It was an unforgettable experience.
Prior to the stay, I was in contact with Ms Lucinda who is in charged of the reservation. Her service was on the dot, prompt and full of information. She even provided an entire list of dining options with a variety of food for us to choose from around the Orchard.
Upon arrival, we were greeted by Wim, the friendly orchard caretaker who across the 3 days 2 nights stay, served us with a never ending smile on his face and helped us fulfill all our requests and more. We were treated endlessly throughout the stay to fresh local fruits pluck from the orchard such as cempedak, durians, rambutans and mangosteens. Besides that, we also had fresh duck and chicken eggs. We highly recommend to cook them as soft boil eggs for breakfast as the quality is out of this world.
There are plenty of activities to do for kids or adults. There are 3 ponds to choose from for fishing, there is live animals that you can feed, a beautiful swing, a well kept swimming pool, lovely trails to walk around and enjoy nature at it's best. The owner keeps the entire orchard in tip top condition, cleaned and well maintained. This includes the rooms and all communal areas which is very commendable.
The air around this area is fresh and crisp and ultimately a great place for a short break from the hustle and bustle of the city. It is only a 40 min drive from Kuala Lumpur which makes it an ideal place to drive to without having to go all out and about. Lastly, the owner himself visits the place frequently so it is very nice to have a chat with him about the history and how the place came about. He is very friendly and has set the tone for all his staff to follow so. There is also an extensive herb and spice garden which upon departure, he gladly provides what you want.
Lastly, upon departure, all the guest were given fresh, organic, pesticide free rambutans in bags that were enough for the entire year. It is that homely, warm and welcoming service and atmosphere that would entice us to continue coming back to Carpe Diem. All in all, I would highly recommend this place for families, couples and friends.

I like Carpe Diem's challet where it is very spacious, clean and tidy. e
Swimming pool is abit small but enough for kids to play.
Small animal farm, fishing, board games are provided therefore kids can play over there. BBQ and kitchen is nice too but you have to bring your own food to have BBQ there.
2d1n is sufficient for a family.

The house is a really open making it quite an interesting place to stay in. The design of the house is very pretty.
There are two shower place detached from the house and quite open with great water pressure.
Love the small pond and fishing area. We had fun trying to fish and giving the fishes bread.
The orchard is amazing. There are durian trees, rambutan, pulasan and other interesting trees. Quite educational for us and the baby.
The three rooms were clean and the flooring is simply awesome.
Location wise, the house is just next to a busy road and if you don’t close the door, the noise can be annoying. Not really a peaceful vacation that we are looking for. Might as well stay at home. Would be great to invest in some noise cancellation design.
Sadly, when it was raining, the bbq place was flooded. We reported to the management but nobody came to help. It was frustrating as we had to check the drainage system and do our own ‘maintenance’.
We also had an eventful night as we had ‘attack’ from the ants. Some of us were bitten by the ants and left marks on various parts of the body. Please invest in really good bug repellent.
All in all, would we stay here again? Maybe, but not during raining season.

Regret to know of the BBQ area was flooded, we will look into the matter. Sometime the big pouring and due to the slow drainage system which may seem causing flooded. As for the ants it is part of the nature and kampung style way of living even though we have engaged pest control experts before but not much we can do. Farmer's Quarter as it is next to the main road and we know of the noise guests are facing that's why we are selling the place as for backpackers rate.

Went for a family vacation with 5 adults and 2 kids. We booked a pulasan chalet and bunga Raya jr suite. In fact, pulasan room alone would be able to accommodate all of us with extra mattresses. We didn't expect it to be so big and spacious. The rooms and the place are clean. Very helpful and friendly staffs. There's bicycles, ping pong table and trampoline. The only drawback was the swimming pool was a little small. It's ok for 1 or 2 families. Anything more than that would be quite crowded.
Would recommend this place for family/friends outing!

Expected a holiday amidst greenery and away from the hustle and bustle of the city. However, this place is just next to a big highway and I can hear cars/trucks zooming pass middle of the night. Inside, the place is average. Pool can be cleaner but I like that they have a small slide at the pool. Staffs are generally friendly. But not exactly value for money

When we were planning for our Family Day outing for the group we were looking for a resort which is near to the city, easily accessible, have activities for the kids, area for us to organise tele- match, BBQ, swimming and most importantly has the kampung ambience. This resort has all above. It offers kampung style chalets and a compact swimming pool so it was easy to supervise the small kids.
The resorts does not have F&B outlets but provide microwaves and fridge. As our group is big they help us to order meals and BBQ from local caterer.
The resort does not provide towels and toiletries, need to bring your own.
Best time to visit would be during the fruits seaaons ie August to October for you to enjoy to orchard fruits such rambutan, manggis, cempedak etc.

As it was a holiday on Labour Day, we opted for a weekend stay here. We got to experience the charms of kampung life in traditional Malay style homes just a 45 minutes drive from Kuala Lumpur. We packed our days with amazing activities such as swimming, biking, fishing, trekking and fruit picking. We enjoy a barbecued dinner at the barbecue pit.

This is one of my favorite getaway that comes with an orchard! My kids love the pool. There are rambutan, mangosteen and durian trees. The room is spacious for a family of 5. There is a pond for fishing - haven't been fishing for the last 20 over years (I think!). It is a place for a family who wants to be close to nature. We will definitely come back again!

I like this place, in fact, a lot! Very good concept of short getaway from KL.
Pros
- Authentic kampung style holiday
- Nice facilities and activities, big pool with slide, bright BBQ area, spacious Bunga Raya suites, animal farms, plantations, lake
- Efficient service
Cons
- When checked in to Bunga Raya Executive Suite, toilet had urine smell
- Overall whole Main House is dirty, dirty 'blanket', dirty glass surface, dirty windows and etc
- No tissue box in whole house
- Paid RM1280 for whole main house but no cleanliness
- 'Blanket' was actually a thin sheet of bedsheet
Can consider to come again if the cleanliness is done well. Or else NO NO NO.
