Cheap price, dated, friendly staff. Cleanliness is not best. The old coffee filter was still in the pot !!! I have nothing more to say so will meet minimum wording for review by writing jibberish. This is ridiculous to force people to write garbage they do not want to write so my review of trip advisor is -5.

I've been using this hotel since 1985. It is close to Mayo, reasonable priced, dated , large rooms. In the early years everything was always flawless now full of flaws. Upon arrival the assigned room didn't cool. Dirty carpeting, second room I looked at cooled but filthy carpet. Third room cooled , not as dirty carpet but we opted to... More

We stayed here a few times when my sister was in the Mayo Hospital. The rooms are very comfortable and quite. Nothing fancy and a bit outdated but we could have our dog and the rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was average. We would stay again.

Some places are extraordinary and you pay for them. Some places are great values and you overlook deficiencies because of that. We just returned from a visit at Mayo and added yet another 5th Avenue Inn & Suites experience to our repetoire. Mixed results, but on balance we will stay here again. We would recommend this hotel as a Very... More

Hey -- I wanted an inexpensive place to stay for my husband's appointments at the Mayo Clinic and I couldn't have asked for a better price. The 5th Avenue Inn & Suites is super close to the Clinic. It is a very comfortable, warm and friendly hotel and the price was certainly right. It needs a little updating though. Our... More

Great price and value if you have to spend time at the Mayo Clinic. A bit of a hike to St. Mary's although there is a shuttle that runs (infrequently and not on weekends). Room is generally clean, but the carpet is worn and stained in many spots. Bathroom is cute with old style ceramics and sinks, but still a... More

I was worried that the low price would mean a compromised experience but the opposite was true. From the helpful and friendly front desk to the open and spacious interior things were surprisingly pleasant. The room with 2 queen beds had a microwave, fridge, coffee maker, flat screen TV, a large closet with wood hangers and a cupboard for things... More

Great price and adequate when all your time is spent at mayo clinic. Carpet is musty smelling and tile in bathroom is moldy appearing. Rooms are large, beds are ok comfort wise but better bring you an extra pillow. Only had hand towels to dry with but the desk did get us some regular bath towels. Breakfast consists of instant...
