The bath room was small but that's what you get with a house that's 144 years old. The people at the front desk were welcoming and helpful. We were given suggestions on what to see and what to do. It was great to be within walking distance of the downtown attractions. The breakfast in the morning was excellent.

Great historic property! The staff is very pleasant and helpful! Breakfast was wonderful!!! It is a bit like a large bed and breakfast. Lovely! Be sure to ask to tour the rooms which are open when you check in. Each room is different. We traveled with our 12 year old son. Great stay!

We booked room 3 sight unseen while on a road trip. "Historic and authentic" in a town with the same credentials sounded good. But this place is in need of some serious TLC. I understand that running an old hotel full of old fixtures and furniture is expensive in both time and money, but certain details need immediate attention at... More

This is a well maintained hotel from the 1890's! Just a short block from the Mississippi River with a scenic river walk. Room 11 was small but well equipped. Price great. Breakfast was creative and better than average breakfast included fare. Rooms are lovely with beautiful period wallpapers, furniture and chandeliers.

Beautifully preserved hotel with lots of character. Fun to view the rooms that aren't occupied as each is unique. We stayed in Room 18, lovely corner room with whirlpool and shower. Many rooms have only small baths with tiny showers, so be sure to ask. Our bath had no door, only a rather sheer curtain with was the only thing... More

I was greatly disappointed in the historical Anderson House Hotel. It's in bad need of repair. The wallpaper and wallboard in my room was split open exposing insulation and the outside wall. I was amazed that staff of the hotel did not notice it and try to repair it. The makeshift bathrooms are very tiny and were cheaply done, not... More

Trudy, we're so sorry to hear that your room had some notable issues, and we do keep a close eye for these things and I want to assure you that we're addressing them as quickly as we can. The building itself was very nice and interesting. My husband and I stayed for one night, but I wouldn't be interested in staying any longer. There was no door on the bathroom in our room - just a curtain. This is not acceptable at all. And there was no place to put my makeup - it only had a pedastal... More

Sorry to hear the bathroom facilities weren't ideal for you, Holly! All of our rooms are unique, as with most historic hotels, and yours happened to be the one without a door or a vanity. In fact, all the other rooms do have those amenities. Don't hesitate to speak up and let us know so we can try to better... More

I like to stay in unusual, not the run-of- the- mill, hotel chains. This hotel hit the mark for me. My only recommendation is to tour each of the available rooms first before settling in, which they allow you to do. Each room is unique in size, views, and historical touches. The breakfast (which is included with the stay) was... More

Continuously running hotel since the 1850s! Floors creak and furnishings are period. Staff was gracious but not present very often.. There is a room with museums facts.
