Stayed at Zippel for a customer fishing trip, eight people total. I've been to many similar resorts in Canada, US and Mexico. Zippel was friendly and the accommodations were OK. Restaurant was not so great; mostly fried food...better eating at a Denny's. Fishing for walleye was good. There was one other group similar to us; executive level customers. Zippel has... More

Best Lake of the Woods trip we've ever had! Log cabins are amazing, fishing is lights out! Charters are great, awesome new bar, great selection of bar food and a swimming pool for the kids. Troll for Pike in the bay, quickly get through the gap and out to the mud flats or over to Big Island. We have limited... More

A group of us chartered a day trip on one of their 30 ft boats. We started out with breakfast which they had ready for us when we got there. After that we got on the boat for a forty five minute trip out on the lake. We trilled raps and before we got all lines out we had a... More

First impressions (with respect to outright appearance) were neutral. The newer log cabins looked really nice, we stayed in the house keeping cabins, these were a bit more dated and rather quaint. We stayed in house keeping cabin #6. We have previously stayed at arnesons, so that was my only point of comparison. Decided to try zippel bay resort because... More

We stayed there for a couple of days. Our quaint cabin, not log cabin, was right on the water and we could watch the sunrise from the family room. I wish they had more tv stations for the kids. I had to buy a DVD player to entertain the kids. The owners were very helpful. My son was sick every... More

Just got back, stayed from February 11-14..#9. Warm & Clean Cabin, all ice shelters we used were very warm, all heaters worked perfectly. We had the "meal plan", all food was very good, although keep in mind no choices of menu, lunch bags were also provided daily, nice sandwich, chips, cookie & beverage, very tasty steak dinner as well. Fishing was... More

The owners and staff at Zippel Bay are very warm, welcoming and extremely helpful. We stayed in Log Cabin #1 and on our second day we presented a small list of housekeeping items that needed to be addressed and when we returned from our day of ice fishing all the items had been fixed. Each day the ice houses were... More

We got here on Wednesday September 2nd checked in at the office and had our boat put in by the people who worked here. Cause we had our motor home and our boat hooked on behind our motor home. The office and bar and restaurant are nice. But the game room and shower and bathrooms for the campground are not... More

This was our second stay at Zippel Bay Resort, and I regret not writing a review the first time! It truly is a well-run, first class resort in so many ways! First the owners, Deanna and Nick, are always there to assist you in every way you can think of. I cannot think of any need that could not have... More

We are a group of 6 guys and have been making an August trip to LOTW for 35 yrs. We used to go to another resort for the first 32 yrs. We switched because of migrant worker type cabins(dumps) at the prior resort and poor service. When we came to Zippel, it was like we found Shangra-la. New log cabins... More
