We had a perfect 3 night stay, what a beautiful home Michaela and Sue have created, we stayed in the Vine Room in the garden, just breathtaking. The weather heated up, so the fan we borrowed from the ladies was much appreciated. We opted for the wine tasting supper, which we enjoyed outside our room in the shade of the...

We have just returned from a road trip across France with our dog. We stayed at La Grande Maison on the first and last two nights, and loved every minute: in fact, we wish we'd booked for longer as it is so incredibly relaxing and restorative. There are two main elements that distinguish this from other places. It is in...

Fantastic 17th century accomadation with a walled garden, caves and an ancient dove tower. Sue and Micaela pay attention to the details that make a break here so perfect. Not far from many chateaus including Montreuil Bellay. Also Meron one of the top bird watching sites in Loire is close by. Bioparc at Douie La Fontaine is one of the...

This is our second stay at La Grande Maison and once again it didn't fail us. We had a beautiful, authentic spacious room in the main building. We opted for the dinner with pairing wines and it was amazing. Fresh and absolutely delicious, all the guests agreed that Sue, the chef, should be on masterchef. The whole experience started with...

Micaela and Sue are lovely hosts, Micaela took us to taste some lovely wines and the highlight for me was a picnic lunch by the river. Staying in the old farmhouse was an unique experience. Nothing was too much trouble. We flew into Tours and Micaela came and picked us up. They even arranged our transfer for our next destination....

We stayed for two nights on their special dinner and wine tour offering. Basically this gives you a glass of wine in the garden on arrival, dinner on night one with several different wines and a full day visiting wine producers. We managed to fit in three producers and a visit to the local distillery shop. All very worthwhile and...

This is a really wonderful B&B with lovely hostesses, comfortable rooms, great food and wine, and beautiful grounds. The dinner on the first night's stay was a particular highlight. The wine tasting to match each course was also wonderful. The nearby village of Le Puy Notre Dame is easily accessible and worth exploring on foot.

We stayed in la grande maison for three nights in september, with our dog oscar. michaela and sue (and their dogs) were great hosts, suggesting great areas to visit, and the evening when they cooked a meal (with great wines) for us, was the highlight of our holiday. the visit to the cave under the property was amazing. We stayed here with another couple for the three night, two day wine tour package and we had a fabulous time! Sue and Micaela are wonderful--friendly, knowledgeable and gracious. The 17th century farmhouse has such character; the breakfasts and dinner as well as wine apperitifs they served were delicious; the walled garden was still beautiful in October; and the sunsets...
