Our first night on the Queen Charlotte Track and we couldn't have been happier than to stay here. Dave and Garry were wonderful hosts and dinner was magnificent. My husband and I have eaten all around the world and this was one of the best meals we have ever had. Delicious, mouth watering lamb, hassleback potatoes, warm beetroot salad, pavlova with blueberries...so good! The room we had was lovely and HUGE! Bathroom has a big claw foot bath with salts. The bed was very comfortable. SO glad we stayed here.
Day 1 and the 7 of us were overjoyed with our first nights accommodation. Spacious rooms and a large balcony upstairs to enjoy the incredible view. David was a gracious host, amusing us no end with his egg cooking demonstration for breakfast. Dinner was also a treat, with the whitebait fritters his signature dish. Lots of laughs at dinner made us all feel at home. Bath in the window was tempting but ran out of time. Next trip 🤔
No Way Inn is located in a stunning spot with great views. Garry is an excellent host and goes out of his way to make guests feel welcome and comfortable. There are few things that are interesting and you would either like them or they would be annoying: The bathroom is a little cramped and the shower curtain does not work well. There are no blinds in the window and while there is one way glass with the red light turned on - best not to forget as the light switch is outside the bathroom! Some of the building details are unfinished - always the way with an owner-builder. The bedroom is lovely, although the kitchenette is very small. The evening meal was excellent and a lot of fun. All in all a lovely visit and we enjoyed the experience.
We loved our night at The No Road Inn. The bedrooms are huge with great views out over the water, the beds are super comfortable and the food was fantastic. After a long walk on the Queen Charlotte Track it was bliss to arrive at this place, especially to be able to have a bath, with views out over the bush. The packed lunches are very good too! It's a fabulous place to stay, big thanks to Gary and Barb for their hospitality.
We are so glad we chose No Road Inn for our first night on the Queen Charlotte Track. Unassuming from the outside, the interior of No Road Inn was a series of beautiful surprises. We had the upstairs room on the end and it was simply perfect. The view from the deck, two hammocks, a super comfy bed, a bath (along with bath salts with lavender, orange peel, rosemary etc) and a hot hot hot shower which I promise you is the BEST way to end a hike, were just wonderful. Definitely book in for the 4 course home cooked meal. The mint/salt/herb lamb was to die for. Garry if you are reading this we would love your recipe haha. Garry and Barbara were lovely hosts, interesting dinner companions, and very intune with the needs of their guests. I took 5 photos in 5 minutes at sunset - wow just wow!!! We were happy walkers when we headed off the next morning. Karen and Greg …
