Expensive for amenities, e.g. room above a pub, however you're paying for location!
Nice meal in the evening and we liked the cosy pub atmosphere. Attentive service.

Came upon the chequers inn by chance on the way to Eyam. Stopped for a late lunch, excellent service, freshly made sandwiches, double fried chips and beer. Recommend! We will be back when next passing.
Stayed here on A Sunday night on our Grand Tour of the North.
