Absolutely awful hotel experience. Whilst myself and my party were not expecting luxury with the price we paid, what we encountered was nothing short of abysmal. After we arrived back at the hotel after Neighbourhood Weekender festival, we received our room keys. Two members of our party entered what was their room (as they were told), and walked in to find two people asleep in their bed. After going to reception to solve this, they were told they were given the wrong room key. However after reading a few more reviews, it is evident that this problem has occurred previously. This complete disregard for the safety of guests put an immediate bad taste in our mouths shortly after arriving. The rooms themselves are very dated and worn out. Our bathroom door did not have a handle meaning that it couldn’t be shut. And the dated and worn interior made for a depressing stay during our times in the room. All of the hotel facilities are closed. The pub attached the hotel looks as if its doors have not been opened in months. Whilst it was not in our plans to utilise this, do not expect to be able to use the facilities such as the bar which are shown on the photos. The interior of the hotel is very dated and in serious need of a lick of paint. The corridors need a serious amount of TLC as well as the rooms. On our first night, we witnessed a couple who were turned away as they were told they did not have a room, despite booking in advance. Yet again, this is a simple basic for the hotel which was seemingly glossed over by reception as if this was normal. Whilst the issues with the rooms were an annoyance, the issue regarding members of our party and simply entering someone else’s room with such ease made us question our own safety in the hotel. This should be an absolute bare minimum for any hotel, no matter what the price range is. And was simply the icing on the cake in what was a pretty awful hotel experience.

Cancelled our booking of over two month the week before saying they were overbooked. Ended up spending another £40pp for another place as we've had to buy a hotel room the week before a festival in the area. Wouldn't have been as bad if they could have told us much earlier in advance.

Absolutely DISGUSTING; filthy HORRIBLE hotel. I booked a night here to have a rest (baring in mind I was 7 months pregnant). The room wasn’t up to scratch at all; but it was somewhere for a night to relax I went to sleep at 9pm but struggled to sleep because of the noise outside my window (I was right at the front) so people who were out smoking after having a few drinks were noisy NOT the hotels fault. Now at around 2am I was woken up by next door having a party in their room; and they were being ridiculously loud! I went to the front desk to complain and they told me they would speak to the occupants……. This did NOTHING for the noise admittedly I was furious so I packed my things and went back to the front desk about the noise. They told me they had warmed them and that was that…… so I said can I change rooms and they told me that they couldn’t do that as there were no more rooms available. I asked them for a refund because I was DISGUSTED in their response and the fact that they clearly weren’t going to deal with the mini party next door as soon as I asked for a refund they suddenly found me a replacement room. I moved upstairs into the new room but it was DIRE it stunk and it must of been 40+ degrees in that room because I was absolutely SWEATING!! I felt SICK because of the heat but I was that exhausted I just wanted to go to sleep. When I woke the next day I looked at the room and it was absolutely FILTHY; the couch in the room looked like it had been there for 10+ years there were LOTS of scratch marks on the dresser and the carpet was stained and threadbare. I paid £50+ for a night of peace and chill and in return it was a night from HELL. I emailed them direct to complain and they didn’t even have the decency to reply! I wouldn’t stay here again if you paid me £1 million

They cancelled my daughter and her two friends booking without any notification. Imagine, they got told on arrival. Now what are 3 young women going to do? They've travelled for a good part of 3 hours. The Greyhound hotel had no resolution for them even though they had paid in full weeks ago through booking.com who personally wouldn't recommend aswell as the Greyhound hotel. To ensure their safety and relocation I contacted booking.com and told them I am not ending this call until I know that my daughter and her friends are safe and sound. All because Greyhound hotel had given the room to the council. The lady Jo who dealt with this serious matter was so helpful and patient we were on the phone for over one hour while my daughter and friends sat in the Greyhound hotel lobby for a good part of 3 hours. During this time the owner/s returned to the Greyhound hotel and began to shout , belittle, threaten and called the police on them because they wanted them to get out...why are you here?..... proof has been documented. Jo from booking.com was great and helped us resolve the relocation which is far better than the Greyhound hound hotel. Thank you Jo and your seniors.

This hotel is not fit for purpose. There are no facilities, no pool, gym, sauna, bar, restaurant... All advertised as being available. The room was old and tired which I can deal with, however, the peeling coating on the bath, the dirty toilet and the bugs on the window sill I could not. Seriously this place should be shut down. The manager was as helpful as possible and agreed a refund immediately, saying all of the rooms were in a similar state. It's not even cheap, travelodge and Premier Inn are like the Ritz compared to this place.

Extremely disappointed. Everything was filthy and the bath had holes in the fibre glass. Very dated. The pool, sauna, gym and steam room were all permanently closed and we had to walk miles to the other end of the hotel to our room even though the hotel was virtually empty. The lift was out of order. There were no signs of any bars being open. The main pub part was closed. It was like staying in a homeless shelter.

Hotel informed us on route that they no longer allow dogs in hotel. Booking made two months ago. They had accepted our original booking. Had to find somewhere else to stay either one hours notice. Didn't have the decency to inform us at least the day before. Just a blunt message. They do not deserve your business.

As soon as I drove into the hotel I knew something wasn’t right. The exterior was like council estate flats which wouldn’t be a problem had this been the impression I had from the website as it was advertised as everything it wasn’t While checking in, I noticed that it said the sauna and swimming pool wasn’t operational which wasn’t a problem but on further inspection, the BAR, RESTAURANT were all closed till further notice as apparently they are thinking about closing the hotel. Why have it open if you haven’t got it fully functioning ? No breakfast in the morning, corridors smelling of urine and the hotel rooms looking like a cell in Her Majesty’s Prison. Thankfully there was a kettle- albeit needing a clean, it was a luxury I wasn’t expecting Lifts not working- the hotel itself looked very quiet apart from the odd drug addict & prostitute. Tried to spend as much time as possible away from the hotel the next day but when I did come back, i was disappointed to see the room hadn’t been cleaned even though I clearly put the sign to get it cleaned How this hotel is still open is beyond me. I get there is a market for low budget hotels but atleast reflect that in the advertising as the website is extremely misleading I won’t be back and wouldn’t recommend staying here either. Id be kind in saying the place needs fumigated as I’d say bulldozing it would be the best solution

Terrible. Checked in, paid, went to the room, checked out. Was there for the grand total of 5 minutes. Absolutely awful. Thread bare carpets, dingy, damp, smoke smell everywhere. No facilities open. Honestly awful. Staff were lovely although after chatting to them, the recent management takeover had left them as miserable as the hotel itself. Avoid at all costs!

I booked into this hotel on on Tuesday of this week, I was informed the kitchen was closed so no food, I had a pint, on the Wednesday the br was closed I was told it had shut down. They took £10 per night for me having my dog with me, previously it was £10 for the whole stay, as it is with all hotels. The hotel needs decorating, but it won’t get it as it is clearly struggling for cash and staff.
