Roaring River is a very nice state park with good trout fishing, wonderful hiking trails and beautiful scenery. If you are here for that, staying at the resort and conference center puts you in the heart of the park and can be worthwhile. You are paying for location, not for the room. The room I had was clean and comfortable....

RR State Park is a nice trout park. Opening weekend and closing weekend, the campgrounds ( 3 total) are usually booked full, so reserve early. Also summer months are very busy, book early. Swimming pool, playground, picnic area, hiking trails, park store, lodge and cabins, also swimming and splashing allowed in zone 2 of the river. Campsites are pleasant, my...

I am not a fisherman but the fishing was very good for my family--thus, the rating above terrible. We were in Cabin 1, a renovated 1 bedroom cabin with a Murphy bed and 1 bathroom. The renovations were okay--the furniture is too big for the unit so we were constantly moving furniture to move around (4 people) and the layout...

My wife and I have stayed in cabins all over the US...we are especially versed in what to expect from a State or National Park cabin versus a private (and pricey) cabin. We were simply disappointed this past weekend in the cabin at Roaring River State Park. 1st, it was not clean. Furniture was actually sticky to the touch, dirty...

Campground was clean. Bathrooms and Shower house at campground 3 were not very clean . Beautiful surroundings and hiking areas. The people were friendly. There was a free bluegrass band on Friday night at the amphitheater that was awesome. The highlight of stay here.

We were in 109 as well. I seen another reviewer's take of her stay and it is as bad as she said. The toilet bowl was actually broken/cracked on the left side. There was no hot water until we asked for it the mirror behind the bathroom door looked like polished aluminum. I told my husband it was either a...

Missouri treats you right! Went fishing with my daughter and had a blast. We stayed at Roaring River Resort just 1 mile away and it was very nice. Although there were many people fishing, you still had room to cast and feel at ease. It was fun watching the many trout as much as the fisherman old young and old....

Inn and conference center is attractive, clean, quiet. The room heater-AC was quiet and worked well cycling around the set temp - something often not available in those units. Shower-tub combo in bath, but no hair dryer so bring your own if you want one. Restaurant workers were efficient and conscientious. Hiking paths, but not from the conference center. It...

It is very cool to fish in a nice clear stream where you can actually watch the fish go after your bait. Unfortunately we arrived around 11:00 am and the fish were no longer biting. Tons of early morning catches according to the people around us. Take time to go to the hatchery area... not only is it fun to...
