Overall, I had a fine stay here. I found the staff to be pleasant and helpful every time I interacted with them. The hotel is in a good location within walking distance of many restaurants, public transit, etc. The downside is that the facilities are definitely on the older side. There was nothing terribly broken or anything, but overall the... More

The desk staff is angry that you are staying in their hotel, angry that they have to answer the phone, and angry that you're even alive. Honey, they are just pissed off at everything. There was a party in the room next to us and from the bed sounds it was complete with hookers (frequent but short - come on... More

I was very surprised with our experience for this hotel. While it looks like a nice hotel when you walk in, the room was quite possibly the worst I've stayed at in quite a while. We did attempt to talk to staff about our difficulties, and sadly they were either ignored or no one was available at the time. The... More

Location was great. Staff was amazing. Room was decent. Bathroom super small and dirty. Seen previous guests hair on our tub. Toilet seat had a dark orange smug on it. Had to clean it out. Couldn't get much sleep for 3 straight night due to noisy neighbors... from down the hall. The rooms is far from sound proof. We got... More

Clayton location is easy drive or Metro-Link to Washington University and 25 minutes by Metro-Link to downtown St. L. Good selection of restaurants walking distance to hotel. Our room was comfy and stylish with laminated wood floors instead of typical grungy carpet; well-lit double sinks in bathroom, and marble walk-in shower. Better than average LG hi-def TV. The included breakfast... More

The initial impression I got as I walked into the Clayton Plaza was of a hotel long past its prime. The lobby has a tired look. The check in process went smoothly and then we got to our room. A bit small also with a tired look. However, the bed was good. The room was quite - even though we... More

This was our second stay at the Clayton Plaza. We we visiting our son , a student at WashU. The entire hotel staff, from housekeeping (shout out to Chantay) to the restaurant staff (another shout out to Tom), everyone was hospitable and accommodating. They all work very hard and deserve a huge raise. This will be our official place-to-stay whenever... More

We got to see two rooms. Our first room was beautiful - renovated, and large - but next to the ice machine. The staff kindly found us another room, even though our stay was during a busy time. They told us to go out to eat while they arranged everything and moved our luggage. When we came back we were... More

It is good for the price. I loved the breakfast- lady was very nice who prepared omelettes and waffles. Room was good - bed could be better comfort wise. Place is very big. I would stay again and thank you TripAdvisor for getting me good rates at last moment
