This hotel is definitely off the beaten path. However, it is AMAZING. The grounds are beautiful, the location is peaceful, and the staff is wonderful. Our room was clean and the beds were extremely comfortable. We spent one afternoon just laying by the outdoor pool. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who just wants a little downtime. The city...

Another great weekend at The Elms! I can't say enough about how wonderful the Front Office, Restaurant, Spa, and Sales & Events Teams are. The true gem is located on the 5th Floor - Deb - the concierge and hostess with the mostess is the definition of authentic hospitality....however the only thing she won't offer is her Maraschino Pound Cake...

The hotel is a nicely restored old gem about 30 minutes outside of Kansas City. The rooms were lovely, well maintained. The indoor lap pool was a throwback to a bygone era. I was there for a conference for 3 days, 2 nights. The conference breakfasts and the desserts were good. But the meals were just awful. The meals were...

My sister and I stayed at the Elms for three nights on a girls' trip. It was just what we needed. The hotel is beautiful, the staff is friendly and helpful, and the grounds are stunning. It was a jewel in the middle of nowhere. The pool area was an oasis and very peaceful. We stayed Sunday-Wednesday and it wasn't...

Stayed 3 nights at the Elms for a conference. The hotel is a beautiful old facility with lots of cool history (including ghosts!). The bedroom suite was amazing--huge, plenty of mirrors and storage, comfy bed, with a very strong A/C (much needed in the 95+ degree temps!). The staff were very courteous and accommodating (thank you, Morgan, for helping us...

The hotel and location is beautiful; it had a great ambiance. Part of the charm is that this hotel hasn't been completely modernized. I loved the rooms, but they weren't necessarily as large as most hotel rooms- but this isn't a bad thing! I promise! The rooms had a lot of light and were very lovely. The spa was a...

This is an old, historic hotel. My room was big. The bed was comfortable. Huge bathroom. The rug was stained, making it look dirty (not sure if it was). Nice bar. Pretty grounds. The spa is pretty. The spa area was great, the services were only ok. (If you use the spa, make sure you know when your service starts...

We went for a meeting. Hotel is a nice old building from 1888, renovated. Hotel wifi never worked. Not even a single minute in two days of staying. Hotel smells like Spa...i know it is a spa but...anyways...the food was mediocre. Glass doors at the entrance looks messy, never cleaned. Although we paid $149/nightly +tax+service charge, it was not worth....

My family (2 teens) loved this hotel! It is a gorgeous historic landmark with beautiful grounds. The outside pool was peaceful and surrounded by lovely mature landscaping. We also enjoyed the indoor lap pool and hot tub. The hotel is very well maintained and a beautiful architectural landmark. We did not get a chance to go to the spa, but...

This is a beautiful hotel with amazing history. In its heyday it was the place for rest and relaxation for the most wealthy in the United States including heads of state and industry (including crime - Al Capone was a frequent guest). Staying here and imagining what it was like in the early 1900s was a treat. We only stayed...
