We stayed one night at Hotel Auberge Camelia. The welcome from the owners was very warm. Suzanne was extremely helpful. Rooms were clean and cozy. The owners are British and speak English and French. No issues with communication. They were helpful in directing us how drive into Annecy where we spent the day before heading to Geneva airport the next... More

I normally don't take time to write reviews even if I travel quite a lot for pleasure and work. But this place deceived me so much that I decided to write this review to help future travelers avoid this trap. This place looks good from the first look but look up close and you'll be disgusted. In our room when... More

Did a stay over at Camelia according to the good reviews written here and was not disappointed. Room was large enough and bed comfortable for a good nights sleep. Service was top notch and couldn't have felt more welcomed. For supper got fish and chips from the restaurant which was a nice change to the usual menus.

Stayed 3 nights for a business trip. It doesn't matter how awful your journey or your day at work, you are guaranteed to forget all about it within 5 minutes of meeting Roger and Suzanne. Room great. Food excellent. Repartee and humour unforgettable.

We stayed here for 4 days for business meetings and thoroughly enjoyed the hospitality provided by Suzanne and Roger. If you enjoy a hotel with character, sticky cakes with your tea in the afternoon, a view of the mountains and friendly hospitality this is a great place to stay. We stayed for 3 nights, had meetings in the hotel and... More

Lovely stay, Roger and Suzanne were good hosts and the rooms were comfortable. The food was delicious and of a very high standard which justified the cost. Roger and Suzanne both shared their stories of the history of the property which was very insightful.

Decided to travel down through France to get near to skiing resort (Morillon) to beat the Saturday rush. Found hotel Camelia (about an hour from Morillon) via internet. I first stayed in this Hotel some 25 years ago just after Sue and Roger had bought and refurbished it. I was pleased to meet them both again and to find that the hotel was better than it was when it first opened. Sue no longer does the cooking as chef Lee has joined them. Jamie, Garry and Hugh Fernley... More
