We really enjoyed our stay as we had our own space but were able to also meet other travellers over breakfast and around the pool. It was very hot during our stay so the pool was really perfect to reguvenate. Marc made us feel very welcome and the whole experience was very relaxing. A beautiful location.

Monte Saraz is a fabulous place to stay. We have been here for 7 days and have enjoyed Rosa's fine breakfast everyday. We feel like we have been part of the family here. I will be recommending to my family and friends to come to stay. Marc and his staff are the perfect hosts and offer great tips to enjoy...

My husband and two small children stayed at Monte Saraz last weekend. We absolutely loved it. The hotel is small and quaint and incredibly beautiful. Marc, the owner, is a wonderful host, offering recommendations for things to do in the area and great restaurants in Monsaraz. The swimming pools are gorgeous and the property is very well maintained. Our kids...

Mark is a wonderful host and his beautiful converted farm is magical place to stay. Tucked away in the lush gardens are discreet guest houses, well equipped and decorated with charm and character. A delightful breakfast was served on the patio with breathtaking views of the medieval, hill top village of Montsaraz. The toughest choice we faced during our week...

We enjoyed our stay at Monte Saraz very much. We were here for only two nights, which was too short. We stayed in Casa da Horta (2 parents, 2 adult children), which was very spacious for the four of us. Highlights of our stay included: breakfast on the terrace, lounging by the pool (filled by a Roman era water source),...

It was a great stay at a beautiful location with an amazing view on Monsaraz. The houses are well equipped and nicely decorated. You feel immediately home. Besides, it is a very peaceful environement where you are awakened every morning by the sound of the birds and frogs. :)

Monte Saraz was a last-minute addition to our travels in Portugal. We wanted something off the beaten track and this was it. The drive to Monte Saraz is through groves of Olive Trees and vineyards.,which strongly reminded us of Tuscany. We arrived in the late afternoon and had no problem finding the place. We were greeted by a herd of...

We had a couple of nights inside the Monsaraz city walls, at an excellent place, but decided to stay one night here for a different perspective. We had to book directly with the owner online and pay in advance by PayPal, as TA was apparently unable to show rooms or prices. It seemed to work quite well, but the only...

Monte Saraz is an amazing place - set in very beautiful surroundings it is a number of well equiped cottages and rooms around the main house in which the kitchen, the breakfast location and the indoor/outdoor swimming pool. Trees, shrubs, flowers and small ponds everywhere with birds and the soft gurgling sound of fountains and small waterways. Very quiet and...
