Detailed Reviews
The highlight of our stay was the incredibly helpful and accommodating staff team! On arrival we we given a beautiful suite which was palatial in size. It however had no more than a Juliette sized balcony and was facing a fair ground that was incredibly loud as we were staying during A fiesta. I requested a room with a bigger balcony facing their lovely pool and they accommodated the next day.
Jose at the front desk was as charming as the hotel itself. He was most personable and helpful! “Bonita” Patricia was a delightful server at the small restaurant and bar and the bartender Jesus, made fabulous margaritas! Ivan was “there to keep the guests happy”. His role was all encompassing - bellman, concierge, troubleshooter. If you wanted something he’d try to get it for you including a deal on fresh shrimp his “friend was selling for a really good price”. Not only a consummate salesman but he could sing too!
The two story suite was lovely. Beautifully appointed and nicely decorated. The beds were firm but comfortable. Both bathrooms were spacious and shampoo and conditioner were provided. Housekeeping did a fabulous job in keeping our suite clean and provided us with extra towels as requested.
The pools were refreshingly cool and the grounds were well maintained - esthetically pleasing during the day and when lit up at night. The location was right in the hub of the action and only a couple of blocks from the beach. As a guest of the hotel, we had access to Coco,s beach club where we had use of the chairs and umbrellas with a purchase from the restaurant of about $20 CDN. Food and service at COCO’s was also very good!
Overall, our stay was absolutely delightful again in part to the facility itself and especially because of the staff team!

If you’re on the fence bout where to stay you can take it from me this is a wonderful place for any occasion! The staff is amazing, Ivan, Patricia, Jose, the bartender and kitchen staff were the best! Any questions we had Ivan was able to tell us exactly where and what to do, Jose always was there to answer any questions as well. Patricia and the other bartender and waiter was amazing (I am sorry I can’t remember your name), my sister and I had dietary restrictions and there was never a mistake on our meal! This is was greatly appreciated! Also the cleaning staff always did a amazing job and made sure we had towels if we needed them and left the room smelling amazing. This was our first time going to Mexico and this was a great place for people coming to the area for the first time! We went fishing one day and brought back 10 angel fish and got the best tacos and ceviche we had ever had and the kitchen prepared it for us for a veryyyy minimal cost. Needless to say this was a great place to stay and will definitely be back.

My husband and I stayed for a week. The small hotel is walking distance to the center of town and to the beach. We stayed with the "all inclusive plan", which was adequate. You could select breakfast, lunch, dinner and beverages, from the menu. Staff was pleasant, helpful and very accommodating.
The swimming pool was very nice but the water was very cold. We were not able to use it. Take this into consideration if you are planning on using the pool.
Our main complaint was the constant, loud music. We had to tell them daily, sometimes more than once, to please lower the volume or even give it a rest for an hour or two. If you wanted to use the balcony or sit by the pool, to read or just rest, we had to put up with the music or complain.
The hotel could be almost perfect if they are able to control the music issue.

One word: Unsafe.
This is specifically regarding the pool area and property. The pool deck is covered in black mold, the pool surfaces stained with various live organics including green algae proliferating around each pool fountain. I don’t care what the star rating is – this should not happen. The courtyard, tables and cots were all covered in dust, dirt, and bird poop. With all of this, there is no way that any extra COVID cleaning is occurring.
We told management that we were not accepting the reservation within an hour of arriving, but they would not help. The manager refused any consolation, but curiously, had a cleaning crew very busy right after we talked to him. We left the hotel in fear of our health with no refund or credit (we are currently taking action with the travel provider). If you are set on staying here, do NOT pre-pay. You should see and accept the property first.
This hotel seems to have a high review rating which we find confusing, as we have stayed in dozens of hotels all over Mexico, of varying ratings, and this one does not add up. We typically will review a hotel if it is glaringly underrated, or overrated, and in this case, it is the latter. The only explanation we can guess at is that the ownership is feeling the pinch of this pandemic and has cut back on cleaning staff (at the time of our visit December 2020). There are several other issues: Regarding the kitchen, we chose this property so we could save by cooking meals. There was not a cutting board, chef knife, dish towels just to cite a few…we could go on about how ill-equipped it was. The beds were like boards and the floor dangerously slippery. There is also more black mold in the bathrooms. But if this hotel was properly and safely cleaned, it might have potential.

Dear Customer., I really appreciate the time you took to write a review about us, your comments are very important so we could improving. However there are false accusations in your review. From the beginning you were upset because you wanted to change your destination (you wanted to go to Puerto Vallarta) Due to our internal policies we could not help you with a cancellation without penalty, it is important to remember that you were traveling in high season. You showed me your Canadian travel agent card mentioning that if we accepted your request you would not damage the image of the place, which I did not seem like a good action. We are a place that takes great care of our clients, their health and the image that we show to our guests. However, we do not tolerate dishonesty. Fortunately, we comply with all the safety and hygiene measures that the federal government and health institutions ask us to be able to offer lodging services. We hope to have the opportunity in the near future that we really like to serve the guest and how beautiful Sayulita can be for the whole family

My wife and I spent the last 8 days at El Pueblito Sayulita. I highly recommend this hotel for the following reasons: value, rooms, restaurant/bar, service and location.
All of the service was fantastic including Patricio, Amparo but especially Jonathon who served us breakfast every morning by the beautiful pool and rented us a golf cart we used to cruise around town and adventure through the jungle.
The location is perfect as it is a 5min walk to the plaza and near north beach which is less crowded & less rocky.
I work remote and the internet worked well. I did notice a little slow down in the afternoons probably as folks returned from their day trips and logged on.
A couple of nitpicky suggestions: wash clothes would be great and coffee available from 7am. Maybe a couple of forks & spoons for the kitchen in our room for those late night leftovers.
We will definitely be back soon! Thank You El Pueblito Sayulita.

This is a totally adequate hotel but be sure to confirm what you booked when you arrive, as it felt like they deliberately tried to scam us. We booked a Master Suite Premium online (2 floors, 2 bedrooms, kitchen, balcony w/ view of pool) but when we were arrived we were put in the worst room in the hotel: last room on the bottom floor, dark, behind the bar, next to storage closet, no view, no wifi, shower didn't work properly and a light from hallway shone into the room all night. When we asked why we weren't in the room we reserved, they said there was nothing they could do but would move us to the correct room the next day and would include breakfast. We asked for a refund for the difference and they said someone tomorrow would take care of it.
They called us the next afternoon and we moved to the correct room which was a huge improvement, plenty of space. We asked for a refund for the difference in room price and again were told someone would refund us the following day. This continued our whole stay and we were never given a refund, which is why I am giving a lower rating.
That being said the location was excellent, easy walking distance to everything. The breakfast was decent, we only ate there once. The suite is the way to go, nice to have the balcony and 2 bathrooms. The pool was nice. Pool/beach towels were not available the majority of our stay. There was a festival going on one night which was quite loud so if that is a priority you may want to stay further outside of town. We did not find the front desk staff very friendly or helpful. I would recommend this as a good location, but be careful they give you the room you booked.

Please read before booking! Here is a complete review of our stay 1/19-1/24 booked in the Presidential Suite (2/2 plus Kitchen). Our trip was originally supposed to be 4 people. When we arrived on 1/19, we were told our room was not ready and it would be another day until it was. We have read in previous reviews that this is a regular occurrence, so we were a little annoyed that it was happening to us as well. The room they put us in was a single room, no kitchen. Luckily, last minute, the other couple was not able to join us. Had they been able to, this would have been a huge problem! We were put into our original room the next day (1/20), however, the master room had a broken AC. We asked them to fix it while we were out. We realized upon waking the next morning (1/21) that the living room AC was broken, and asked them to fix it while we were out that day. When we got home that night, the living room AC was fixed, but now the Master was broken again. We asked them to fix it, but it never got done. So we spent the rest of our nights with no cold AC in the Master. The ceiling fan was also broken and would only go to the low setting. Other things to note: there are no washcloths provided, there are no knives in the kitchen except butter knives (which made it impossible to cut any food), no paper towels or napkins in the kitchen. So if you plan on using the kitchen, you will need to buy all of these things. Also, after day 2, hot water was very limited and a very slow water pressure, about half the shower head had water coming out. Pool is not heated and does not get sun, so very cold. One more thing, we got terribly sick day 2 of our trip. Not saying it was from our hotel food/water, but it was either that or two other places (Pineapple Paradise around the corner or Sayulita Cafe in town). When we checked out, we were told we were only going to be charged 1/20-1/24 since we did not have our room the first night. Its been over a week and we still have not been refunded the amount for the first night.

I would rate this hotel about a 4.5 but will err on the topside due to the helpful attentive and pleasant staff. We stayed in the single room at the end of the pool facing the bar, enjoyed the firmish bed and the actually out-size tv (not w whole lot in English, but football (american) in Spanish is still football and CNN FOX news and a couple of other channels were in English. Housekeeping was attentive which was a change from our last few vacations in the US during covid. No icemaker or refrigerator but ice was sold next door and we bought a cheap cooler.
Location is great, for the most part less loud than the downtown area which is only two blocks and over the bridge. Couple of little stores for snacks, beer water, tequila etc. within 1/2 a block.
Pool area is very pretty and pool is nice and large for a hotel of this size.
Only negative is that it really wasn't clear as to the scope of the bar and when it was open. The website intimates service for breakfast lunch and dinner but it appeared open for breakfast and perhaps lunch. Was able to get soda and beer from the bar but not drinks like bloody mary, etc. Not sure if this limitation was due to covid as the bar area appeared to be staffed through late afternoon.
Staff took their covid procedures seriously.
I would recommend this hotel.

The property is lovely. The stone steps and tiled hallways are beautiful and we loved the balcony overlooking the pool. The staff were helpful. The restaurant has a nice breakfast outdoors. The location is close enough to take a short walk to any restaurant in town yet far enough from the hubbub in the evening to be quiet.
It is so close to being a great property, but the cold hot tub and unheated pool make it prettier to look at than to use. More importantly, the furniture is right down uncomfortable. There is no proper couch and the chairs are hard. It makes relaxing difficult because spending all evening in the room is not inviting. One of our showers worked and the other had a weak water flow. There are no kitchen towels or knives. In fact, towels are in short supply and one thing I had to request in person nearly every day from the reception desk.
With some attention to detail this could be a stellar hotel.

Great boutique hotel, beautiful interior courtyard, spacious rooms, friendly and attentive staff throughout (reception, concierge, restaurant, housekeeping). Location within Sayulita is perfect: away from the 24-7 hustle & bustle of town centre, but within a 2 block walk. Also close to the beach and bus station. Able to book excursions through the concierge (Priscilla), who went out of her way to ensure our sons got to their pick up spot on time. Complementary daily yoga on the rooftop with Lise was wonderful; such a beautiful setting to start your day! Our package included breakfast, which allowed for a variety of menu items, both Mexican and Canadian (pancakes). Our server, Jonathan, was super accommodating and friendly. Kudos to José and Ampero at reception for responding to our many requests for assistance, including replacing used pool towels. On the downside, we were disappointed that smoking was allowed on the balconies, as both our neighbours, at some point, were smokers and tended to hang out on the balcony in the evenings. It can be difficult to find a spot by the pool after 1:30 pm, as all the lounge chairs are claimed by then. A few more more amenities in the room would be nice, e.g. reading lamp on the night table, dresser in master bedroom, more hangers in the closets. Also, a few more amenities in the kitchenette would be helpful, e.g. bottle opener, dish rack, dish towels, cutting board, vegetable peeler, etc.

Yes there’s TVs in each of the rooms. My sister stayed in a bigger suite and each room had TVs.
The one in my room I would say was similar to a full.
I’m not sure. I was in a family suite which was on the main floor. Contact the hotel and double check
