Such a lovely, comforting, and relaxing resort. I only want to stay here when coming to Sayulita. The entire staff made us feel so welcome! I just want to say a huge thank you to Natalia, Andy, Fernanda, Khalil and Andres at the restaurant. They really made our experience memorable, and we genuinely looked forward to seeing them for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. I miss seeing them honestly! The view while sitting at the restaurant was always incredible, and access to the beach is just a short walk down by the pool. The food and drinks at the restaurant were amazing and delicious. We don't drink alcohol but they had mocktails! HIGHLY recommend the summer dream, its delicious! The resort is impeccably clean, and the pool is relaxing and once you're in, there is no coming out. The water slide is also really fun! I highly recommend staying at La Puesta.

Overall awesome place and we'd love to return:

Pros:
-Sayulita is such a cool town with a ton to do. We surfed, did a catamaran trip, rode horses, and checked out a ton of cool bars and restaurants.
-The infinity pool is awesome and heated to perfect temp.
-The location of this hotel is awesome as the beach here is ever nicer than the beach further south and much less busy (fewer annoying venders)
- We never sat down and ate at Mazo but had a lot of poolside food and it was all great. The poolside servers were all really nice.
- The beds/bedding were so comfortable.
-Definitely recommend getting a golf cart at least a few of the days you are there as there is so much to check out in town.
-Our kids loved the slide.
-Gym is small but considering the size of the hotel, pretty nice. At least they have one!

Cons:
-Seemed to have trouble keeping the pool towels stocked
-A hot tub would be really nice especially in the late evenings at sunset.

La Puesta is a fantastic new property on the outskirts of Sayulita. Situated along beach, the views are stunning and the amenities including the pool and gym are A+.

My only critique is the price point for what you get. This hotel is substantially more expensive than any other property in town. Yes, it's new and has more of the luxury vibe, but the cost is not worth what you get. Our TV didn't work. We didn't notice this until late on our last night, but this should not have been an issue to start. We also consistently had issues getting hot water in the shower. Our room was also very noisy as we were on the first floor nearby the staff rooms and kitchen, so it made for early morning wake-ups.

This property certainly has potential, but it's going through the growing pains of wanting to be the next top hotel destination in Sayulita. And for that, I just don't think it's worth the high price compared to other properties in town.

This is a review of the restaurant, not the hotel.
First of all, the nice things: this restaurant is on a deck above the beach, where you can watch beautiful sunsets and people walking on the beach. There's a nice breeze. The wait staff is great; very friendly and helpful.
However, we were not wild about the food. It seems like they were trying to hard to be innovative and just ended up with weird stuff. The cocktails had odd mixes of ingredients; we all ordered cocktails and we didn't like any of them. Next time I'd just get wine. My daughter is the only one who got a good dinner--she ordered the fish. The shrimp/pineapple dinner was small like an appetizer and the salad was crusted with salt. I like salt, but that was crazy!
My son got the worst thing--the octopus. He's an adventurous eater but this was too much. The tentacles were ok, not flavorful but ok. The head (which I wish just wasn't there anyway) was raw and cold inside. It was fairly disgusting.
All the food was just too strange.
If I went there again, it would be nice to just sit in the comfortable chairs and drink some wine and watch the sun set--for that it would be great!

I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this hotel. When a medical emergency arose, resulting in the cancellation of my trip, I reached out for assistance and was met with complete unaccommodation. Every employee I spoke to seemed to have a different set of policies, rules, and procedures regarding refunds, and none were willing to provide clear or consistent information. Rather than showing empathy or making an effort to collaborate on a solution, the staff seemed more interested in following rigid protocols than assisting a guest in need.

I understand policies are in place for a reason, but in situations involving emergency surgery, a bit of flexibility and compassion goes a long way. Sadly, I received none of that here. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone who values customer service or expects a degree of understanding in difficult circumstances.

La Puesta in Sayulita is a new oceanfront hotel. Loved the rooms, spa, gym, and the restaurant. The pool is incredible, situated on the ocean with a swim up bar and a slide. May be my very favorite hotel pool. Close to town and felt safe our entire stay. We even had access to a golf cart. Loved our stay - we will be back!

This place is amazing. I have been visiting Sayulita for over 30 years and It was nice to have a new option for somewhere tuesday. Everyone was so warm and welcoming! Thank you Alida, JJ, Renee, Andres, etc. For the hospitality period I enjoyed the view the food. The pool, the water slide, and my room was just beyond exceptional. I even had time to walk down to the break to go surfing. I'm very excited to return with friends next month. Muchas gracias La Puesta staff!!

We traveled here with 3 families and had a great experience at the hotel. They have done a great job making this small resort feel grand. It feels like a large, impressive beach resort wrapped up in a smaller more intimate package. The staff was the best part. They went out of their way to be friendly and helpful. The entire staff at the restaurant were amazing, I can't single anyone out because we loved them all. Service to the lawn chairs was great, the pool bar, lunch in the restaurant. Breakfast and lunch was delicious and well priced compared to dinner which was more pricey. We appreciated not having these meals overpriced. Our only unfortunate experience had nothing to do with the hotel but the state of Sayulita while we were there. The sewage pipe on the beach was broken (half mile from resort) and NoroVirus was running rampant in the city. I will say the hotel-room bathrooms were a comfortable and private place for the members of our group who got sick. It was nice to have a beautiful room with a beautiful view for those who became confined to the room. I highly recommend renting a golf cart through the hotel, we had a blast cruising into town and exploring. It is also an easy walk. One of our favorite places to eat outside the hotel was one block away... definitely try Le Camion for afternoon cocktails or delicious tacos. Beds were very comfortable, plenty of closet space and great patios, all with amazing views.

Probably in my top 3 favorite hotels. We came here for a wedding, so all of our friends stayed here. First off, it’s a brand new property so it’s super clear. The rooms are stunning and all rooms have an ocean view.

The staff is incredible. They remember who you are and some even greeted us by name. They go above and beyond (for ex: we needed cash to pay for a taxi and the receptionist loaned us pesos).

The food is amazing and the drinks are good (expect normal vacation pricing).

It’s about a 10 minute walk to town so super close to everything.

We spent all day Saturday at the beach (access from the property) and the hotel’s infiniti pool.

I can’t wait to come back! A dream hotel.
