Despite being beautiful, new and clean, it is not for those who want tranquility or for those who need to work. Loud music (from the hotel's own bar) playing throughout the night, every night (at least in high season, February, it was like that). Also, the services are not very professional for a hotel of this price. The fan in my room didn't work, and a person at the front desk confessed that the hotel already knew about the problem beforehand. I hate air conditioning and I spent two nights without the fan (which when it came back on it was very weak), and no one from the staff ever apologized for the inconvenience. The use of the co-working room is paid separately and the breakfast is very limited and bad too. I do not recommend.

If you've been to Sayulita before or visiting for the first time you should checkout this new boutique hotel! Great staff, food is excellent and the rooms are beautiful! You can stay in a hostel room with your besties, a micro room with shared bath, a standard room with bathroom or a deluxe room that is stunning. There is a party loft available, a place to work out your kinks and office space with internet if you just have to keep in the loop! Plus it's one leisurely block walk to the ocean! The surf is awesome and the town's inhabitants are very gracious! Go...see...enjoy!

This is a nice hostel in the middle of town. But after staying at the nearby Viajero Hostel this place just can’t compare. Viajero is bright, airy, & cleaner w/ good looking people, vibes, & insane views. The beautiful atmosphere at Viajero makes people immediately open up and befriend you. They have an indoor coworking space that doesn’t have windows but you are able to work outside. I stayed at Viajero Hostel & made the terrible mistake of switching & booking to Selina. Again, Selina is nice but in no way compares to the magic of Viajero hostel. I’m so sad I didn’t book Viajero longer 😭

We arrived at 3pm, the staff/check in all seemed a bit confusing, after a little bit of back and forth/trying to log in and check in on my phone they eventually told us that our room was not ready and we could wait by the pool. We waited for about 40 minutes for our room to get cleaned. I had to approach them to get the key and they pointed to our room - forget help with our bags or any sort of greeting. We had Room 104 which is right next to the check in desk, right next to the entrance and right next to the CLUB next door! Our room had AC which worked fine but our windows did not shut so we had the pleasure of listening to everything that was going on at the front desk all day and all night. We requested a new room the first night and they could not accommodate, they said tomorrow they could help us. We never heard from them again, they never checked on us, greeted us...nothing. I read some decent reviews of this place and was expecting a little more for $100/night. I would suggest staying somewhere else, somewhere with a nice staff that cares about their guests, somewhere that doesn’t have a club next door blaring music until 2am, unless that’s your thing.

I NEVER write reviews but this one is certainly warranted! (I know it's a long one but definitely worth the read so you can know what to expect if anything ever goes wrong with your booking or your stay).
I stayed at this hostel for a week in December. I booked a family room online using Booking.com. A family room at this location includes a room that sleeps 4 and a private bathroom. When I checked into the hostel I was brought to a micro room (which includes a double bed, surrounded with a mosquito net, a ceiling that is so low I hit my head and I am 5,8" and a shared bathroom). To my confusion I went through my booking details and realized I had indeed booked a family room. When I approached the reception with the mistake they told me "Oh yes, it appears that booking.com listed that room at the wrong price so we only have you booked into a micro room and the family room is not available for the length of your stay...". When I asked what my options were I was told they could move us into a standard room (not nearly as big as the one I booked but atleast there was a private bathroom) but we had to promise to contact booking.com and complain because this was totally unacceptable. When we agreed to this, packed up our things and went back to reception we were then told that it was impossible to make the switch in their system without us paying the upgrade fee, an additional $600CAD...They told us this was the only way this was possible but guaranteed we would be issued a refund from booking.com because they were also in contact with them and ensured us this would be resolved. It appears Selina never actually contacted Booking.com because we never received an update the entire length of our stay. Finally once I received a response from booking.com they informed me that anything that was additionally charged for the room upgrade was the responsibility of the hostel and they were unable to refund me for this fee. I have contacted Selina multiple times and have not heard anything back.
Just another note of the poor service provided at this hostel was the apology we received for the inconvenience and the offering of free breakfast each morning of our stay to try to "make up for their mistake". We politely accepted this offer and were quite appreciative. The first morning we went down to receive breakfast at the restaurant the server had absolutely no record of our room getting free breakfast. After discussing with the reception we were told that "whoever told us that wasn't in that day and they have no record of him saying that so we could have the complimentary chilaquiles that day but that was all".
Overall, it was a really disappointing experience as we paid a very high price to stay at this hostel over New Years. I have stayed at the Selina in multiple different countries and I travel religiously but I have never experienced such poor customer service.

Location location!! This is a HOSTEL not a boutique hotel. We were misinformed. The micro rooms on the 3rd floor have a thatched roof - so that means not all walls on four sides. Soooo that means when the noise levels are unbearable there is nothing to stop the noise. Open air. It was extremely noisy in Sayulita and we had no sound barrier. There is karaoke from the restaurant and loud pounding of drums from bands all over. Especially during Sayulita days. There is no escaping the noise when there are no walls. It was clean enough and it is a cool place. We tried to find a quiet spot but it’s next to impossible.

The place is beautiful and clean but breakfast and rest at night is awful. The breakfast includes only 1 cold coffee, that you can't change for anything else and has a delay of 30+ min at least. And if you plan to rest early to go surfing bring strong earplugs because you hear plenty of great bands playing every night until at least 2 am, from all over the city.

Ive been doing Selina's CoLive package. Overall Selina is a high end hostel that allows digital tomads to travel, meet people and try out different things. This Selina was very disappointing.

1. Music all the time. If you are a digital nomad you will not get much sleep.
2.CoWork fits around 8 people, nd no COVID restrictions in place. No one wears a mask nor there are temperature checks.
3. Sayulita beach is among the most contaminated in Mexico. Very dirty.
4. Overall I'd recommend any other beach in MX.

Centrally located, great air conditioning, great yoga and nice staff however incredibly loud! You better bring good ear plugs. Also mold in the rooms, mites and needs better cleaning. Nice heated pool! It had great things and bad things. A weird mix!

If you want to stay up all night and sleep all day this is the place for you!

Accommodating staff, clean room that shares a wall with a club. It’s as if there’s a speaker inside of the room that plays the club music. No joke, the loud music played until 5:30 am. When I asked the front desk about it, they played dumb like they didn’t know what I was talking about. So I recorded the music & returned to the front desk and played it for them. They acknowledged that the musics will go late each night as it’s a club. We were offered ear plugs. We were unable to get quality sleep here.
