I planned a surprise 40th birthday for my wife and our 4 friends for over 6 months. Sweating every detail and option that could come up and every time I had a question or a concern Playa Escondida had the perfect answer to suppress my anxiety. And the surprise was worth every

This place is amazing! We stayed in Villa 1 while we were there and loved every second of it. The staff is super friendly and the resort is quaint and kept well groomed. No wonder ABC films here!!! :)

We have been to Playa Escondida twice now--the first place that we have have returned to in our many travels. We honeymooned there first and stayed in the penthouse suite--which was gorgeous and huge. The whole place is designed in a really lovely way--each room is its own

This is hotel is a perfect escape. The rooms are great. The staff are super helpful. This place might not be for people looking for a party as it’s a short drive out of town but if you want a few days relaxation in a beautiful spot then go for it.

The town of Sayulita has many street side eateries with poor hygiene which should be avoided. Generally, the larger restaurants have better food preparation conditions. The capacity of the sewage treatment plant is being increased and should help local water conditions which are sometimes affected at the main Sayulita Beach. Playa Escondida Hotel is located on open ocean on the other side of the Sayulita point with excellent water quality and its restaurant has modern equipment with perfectly sanitary conditions and professional staff for which you should have no health risks.

Have the folks at Playa E arrange your ride. They do not mark it up, and it is very reliable. $130 US roundtrip (from airport) plus I usually tip $10 each way. They will collect the $130 when they drop you off at PE, it works out fine. I am going Dec 1 for the 14th time since 2012. You will have a wonderful time.

I have visited PE 14 times since 2012. The WIFI is pretty solid except in some areas of the resort. Always good on the beach and in the restaurant. I have watched security cameras in Colorado and election returns on my balcony (Broncos games on the beach). I have ATT and the service has been good. I think it costs $1 per minute. Haven't experienced other providers. PE is great, you'll have a wonderful time.

Never stayed in Luna Amor, but have in the other Luna rooms, I always book six months in advance and have never needed air conditioning. They have fans over the beds that work very well. I imagine the air conditioned rooms seal up pretty well. I like to hear the ocean...

"The rooms do have earplugs - nice if you have a snoring partner, or if you find the crashing waves a bit loud at nighttime."
