A group of 16 of us stayed here for 2 weeks while in Huanchaco. The woman who runs the hostel, Izolda is excellent. She makes everyone feel at home. She will help with anything you need; doing laundry, ordering pizza and arranging cab rides etc. The rooms are fairly basic, but they are very well maintained. The lunch they serve...

We stayed here for 2 nights, while there was nothing wrong, there was also nothing particularly special either. Breakfast was the standard bread and butter, although you can pay extra for eggs. Rooms are comfortable with TVs, and location is good (only 10 minutes to the restaurants and cash points).

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights, winding down after a busy week or two in Cuzco. Staff were very friendly and helpful, the bathrooms were clean and tidy( the best we've had on our 4 week trip) wifi worked everywhere and the building itself has wonderful character. We weren't even charged for our laundry! Would recommend this...

We stayed in this cozy hotel for two nights. We had great rooms with private shower and plenty of hot water. The staff is amazing! They are always trying to make sure everything if good. We had a nice breakfast which included fresh fruit juice. Beside having a good location, it's very cozy...we highly recommend this hotel!

Ten members of our family stayed at El Ancla for two days, from July 29 to July 31, 2013. Although this was during the Peruvian Independence Day celebrations, and we requested reservations only a day in advance, the staff found ways to accommodate us all to our full satisfaction. They also gave us full cooperation to celebrate the birthday of...

We stayed at Hostal El Ancla for an overnight on our trip from Huaraz back to Ecuador. The staff, especially the young man, was very helpful and friendly. We also enjoyed a good breakfast. Wish we could have stayed longer! Dog-friendly, and secure parking are big pluses for us.

I'd suggest you will either be in Huanchaco for either the surf or your just passing thru. Not much to do here but a nice relaxed beach side town. Hostel is a 5 min plus walk into the main part of town (near the pier) but giving that you will probably only be going in to eat or surf it...

My partner and I were booked to stay in another hotel at Huanchaco but decided to check Hostal El Ancla out on advice from the cab driver. Totally glad we did. The standard of the rooms was very impressive for the price and Jorge was happy to help me out with any needs. I snapped a leg rope and he...
