We've stayed at the Cheshire several times over the past 4 years since our youngest daughter became a student in St. Louis (in 2013, it was a luxury inn at bargain rates, and our room came with a complimentary cocktail and appetizer in the Fox and Hounds pub!) so re-booked 3 nights during our daughter's graduation week and were quite...

This was a one night trip to go apartment hunting for my daughter. The three of us enjoyed the two queen bed room, very comfortable. Loved the English Lit Author inspired rooms. We will want to go back and try different ones, I know. There was a housekeeping mix up, so we received complimentary meal at The Fox & Hound....

The hotel is very quaint and dark...which I like. Dark woods, pub type bar, literary themed rooms and a great location make this a winner in my book. Parking is odd as it is beneath the hotel and you must pay to park your own car. Charging me to park my own car is ridiculous. The Starbucks next door doesn't...

Forgot to bring towels two days in a row. One day no housekeeping at all. Hairs all over bathroom. Poor renovation job and very dated. Breakfast was solid and included fresh fruit and egg dish each day.

I was booking a 4.5 star hotel in the Forest Park / Clayton area and was surprised when I got the Cheshire which is more like a 3-star boutique hotel. In general the last couple times I've stayed here, the place just needs a tune up. The HVAC air vents need to be cleaned, the corners need to be cleaned,...

The Cheshire is one of our families favorite places to go. We live in the area but spend a couple of weekends a summer hanging by the pool. This past weekend we hosted my sisters wedding reception at the event space upstairs and it was fabulous. Sarah, the event manager, was wonderful to work with and she helped to create...

I recently stayed at the Cheshire for two nights with my 10-year-old son. We really enjoyed the British-themed decor and the rooms based on famous authors. It piqued my son's curiosity about British literature, and we talked about the various authors' works and which he had read or might wish to read (it's not all Shakespeare - there is a...

The Cheshire Inn is a mixed bag. The staff is helpful and friendly. The rooms are a bit worn and could use some extra TLC. (When I checked into my first room, the shower curtain rod minus the curtain was propped up against the wall, so I was promptly and graciously moved to a second room.) There's no other way...

It is a shame that a hotel with all the potential of the Cheshire would not even keep it clean. Even more surprising that with all the reviews talking about how dirty it is, nothing has been done to correct the problem. We were there two nights for a wedding and our room was dirty. Particularly the bathroom. The room...

It's a real shame that this hotel does not clean their rooms or make sure that the sheets, towels, and shower curtains do not look worn and used. When we entered the room for the first time it looked like we were walking into someone else's room that hadn't been cleaned in a while. There was a bug on the...
